Oi you! I wash mine :)

Oi I didn't mean it like that! Posted Image

My hair is ridiculously curly and ridiculously thick. Once it's starting to get long, if I don't wash it then it just starts tangling up. I think if I didn't wash it, I could get a world record for getting dreads the quickest.

I didn't mean you don't wash yours.

I bet if you didn't wash them Lise, they'd be really stuck together rather than "knotted"?

My hair turns really "dready" if left for a few days without a brush, well, when it was long.
Unfortunatly dreads didn't suit me.

Very true, I'm a bit grim if I'm honest. I'll always shower but when I had long hair because it was so thick and curly it would actually take half a day to dry naturally or about an hour of continuous blasting with a hairdryer, so I stopped washing it regularly. Nobody ever seemed to notice, or they were too polite to say.

From friends with dreads, fresh lemon juice makes unwashed hair smell lovely, and so does black and white hair wax (original Caribbean hair wax), it smells of coconut :)

I recommend not washing it regularly to allow it to dread better.

There is no benefit to letting it get greasy... Greasy hair doesn't knot - it sticks O_O

Nah, it's not changing (visibly) much at the moment, not worth a picture anyway. 4 months now :D

Cool - I really like how it looks but they are not really getting into Dreads.
A friend of mine has his for a few years now and getting them together he had to roll the dreads separately and come them backward so they get all tangled together.
I will post a pic. of his hair latter.

You are patient enough to earn your dreads >_<

Thanks for the comment zeeve! Dreads take years to form properly, which is why I haven't posted a pic in a while. They don't change all that quickly... There is more separation and knottiness coming together at the moment though ;D

Thing will rolling and backcombing (especially if done repeatedly) is it can break the hair ;D

Sounds like a long time for the hair style ;D I think I would get fed up and cut it all off after a few months.

It's not really a "hair style" though is it :)
