LOL Craig you charmer... Ever heard the phrase "If you have nothing nice to say..." ? :) Some of us don't want standard GHD'd hair and to look the same as everyone else forever ;)

And FYI, I'm an Accountant, not a tramp *blows raspberries*

Oh they'll be developing forever, until I get rid! I'll attempt some pics, I've got my first congo going (where two dreads form to make one) and I'm trying to stop the rest doing the same! :P

New knots are slow to form but once they take hold there's no going back!

Yesterday I tied my hair back and Josh thought I'd combed it all out, he said he'll cry if I do and he hates my undreaded hair... He's gonna have to get disappointed one day :P

have u thought of using a crochet hook? i used one to tease the hair together. they then locked loadz quicker. i did this after my hair initially sectioned itself. its good for the wispy bits aswell 2 tie them in,, im at 5 months in now, will try 2 get a few pics up.

Yeah I've considered it, I don't want to get too into maintaining them though, want them to look pretty natural :)

My trouble is that it takes so long for a knot to actually come together in the first place! Most people don't even realise I'm dreading even after 10 months because all my dreads are underneath and the visible hair on top is almost all still separate and wavy, I'm a patient person but when I look at Josh's hair (which has been the same time and is nearly all sectioned) I get really annoyed with mine! >_<

I'm even considering backcombing and then maintaining to force it to knot... Don't tell the purists! :ermm:

hey minili... looking good and good on you for keeping at it this long.. i've been backpacking for 3 months through britian and europe and have long curly hair... past my shoulders... ive been shampooing it but not brushing and it is dreading like mad at the back... i never intended to start dreading it but i figure i will leave it be and see how it goes... i'll get pics up eventually...

kinda a pointless post now that i look at it haha

Sounds good Al, be cool to see some pics as your dreads mature

Well it's been over a year now for me, I have less fully formed dreads now than I had a few months ago because a few joined together! :) But I also have new ones coming along, just unfortunately my dreadage is still mostly underneath so I don't look dready from a distance :)

Here are some recent photos anyway:

heeey just seen your thread...looking good1 slowly getting there i had dreads for ten monthes.. had them out about two month ago.. having synthetics on tuesday.. there looking good... do you gell them?i used nixon freeze gel.. and seperated them into singlur dreads and covered them in gel... i also us Dread head shampoo.. it helps! :)

i had mine done prefesionally... she permed my hair into really tight curls... then seperated them into small chunks... back combed each section and gelled... i went back every three month or so to have them retwisted.. then they begun to twist them selfs from the root :errr:

these are mine about 8 months old
