Nathan reckons his Chevy mini can reach 190mph.
It tops out in third at just under 150mph (for the standing quarter) and then its got overdrive.

Your post is rather contradictory! The Z Cars Mini is as much a Mini as the Chevy powered one and Stuart Mead's Ford turbo Mini!

good peice of engineering, but its not logical not intresting.

good idea to put a motor bike engine in the back of a mini but are they any quicker then the miglias on a track and are they any quicker then the top 3 turbo minis that have had about the same money put into them, well the don has.

What about the fellow with the 300bhp a series mini?

13.3, he needs to get the weight down on that car!

Which he will never do.

Or get rid of the 10s.

Which one?
Lose weight or lose 10s?

I know Matt won't ditch the 10s because he keeps saying them spinning up prevents something else shearing.

dont class a zcars as a classic mini, doesnt count if the engine is in the back. front engine rwd is alright though

haha, but a chevy powered mini or vtec under the bonnet is ok?? I dont really see a difference.....they are both mods which huge power capabilities.

If your asking classic mini, it should really just be A-series.

I agree, it should be A-series only,

And now comes the other argument, what is an A-series? Does it stop being a Mini engine when you stick a 16V head on it, a BINI supercharger and a Swiftune gearset?

I don't think the monte really counts as it's not a mini shell to start with.

to be an A (or A+) series, it's the block which is the determining factor...

What about the Minus or fibreglass Sprint shells? The Dominos, Phoenix', S.American FG shells, Maguire shells, etc etc.

For me its got to have a a-series (block) the main part of the shell in steel, My fave is the twin engined (forge racing?) one, Awesome piece of kit and well thought about having said that if i was building a mini for speed i would take the easy option of engine conversion (for maximum bhp)

I think a mini is a mini if its recognisable as a mini, and has essentially the original exterior dimensions.
Thus capturing the essence of the original mini.

It shouldn't matter what material the body panels are made of, and what engine is under the bonnet, in the back or wherever.

There are catagories of minis, ranging from totally original and authentic, to something that just resembles a mini.

by the way, Nathan's decided to change his 7.3litre Chevy engine for something slightly bigger, plus twin turbos for next year's Santa Pod showdown!!
