if possible, book it in for a check over at a garage or the MOT centre before. That way you can iron out the little things (worn balljoints, bushes etc)

the mot test station is just down the road, which is right next to the garage.

could pop in but they get annoyed if you do but to get it in the garage you have to book a week or two in advance.

failed mot, needs a small bit of welding on the rear subframe.

ideal to add some used oil underneath to make it last longer

booked in bodyshop tomorrow morning, mot in afternoon

Buggar!

Shame that. If you can afford it and depending on where the rust is, replace the subframe as soon as you can.

I picked one up which had been welded last nite, god its a mess. A new one will also last much much longer. Oil is a good idea!!

My mini is one of the last Mini Coopers made with the carb engine. It was built in the same year as the RSP's but it isnt one.

The only subtle difference between them is that the RSP's have red wheel arches and have plaques stating that they are RSP model number 5 for example.

There's quite a few mechanical differences between an RSP and the properly re-introduced late Coopers though.
