Cool, good to here the rude boy mini is coming together. :P

How is the 205? Whats the 0 - 60, top end and handling characteristics?

I am aiming to make the Nurburgring trip this year mate, and maybe dom no.2 also.

will be cool if both of you can make the nurburgring trip again :(

glad your keeping it too :ermm:

the 205, 0-60 is mid to low 6's, top end 130ish on the limiter (its not geared to go that fast, will pull 140ish with a different gearbox).. it certainly upset this bloke in a brand new boxster who was tailgating me all the way through a 30, and then tried to overtake when we got to a duel carrageway :P

the handling is really good, but haven't pushed it much as the roads are a bit slippy this time of year..

I got the Mini back from the garage tonight, along with a large bill and valid M.O.T. Certificate. It initially failed on the following;
  • Hazard warning switch faulty
  • Offside (outer sill) seat belt anchorage prescribed area exessively corroded
  • Nearside rear (panel) suspension component mounting prescribed area excessively corroded
  • Nearside front tyre worn
  • Offside front tyre worn
  • Offside front constant velocity joint gaiter split
  • Offside front steering rack gaiter split
  • Offisde rear (floor to valance) suspension component mounting presecribed area excessively corroded
  • Offside front upper suspension play in ball joint
  • Offside front sill corroded
  • Nearside front sill corroded
Once this weather clears up, I'll be able to go out and enjoy it again.

For the last few months the Mini has had several problems and has been in and out that garage on a regular basis. I didn't give it a look over before I sent it for its M.O.T. I just gave it to the garage to sort out, who suggested to put it through the M.O.T. anyway to see what it would fail on and then fix it.
