Does the Spi need "time" to adjust itselef ECU wise when a sensor has been changed or shold the effect be immediate?

Could a too big Spark plug gap account for the rich running???

Only ask as I got the NGK and popped them straight in without checking and thinking about it all was well until i serviced my car!!!!!!!

if your plug gap is to big this might make it not burn all the fuel in the chamber and produce black smoke, it would use more fuel as you are useing the throttle more as you have less power

spark plug gap is fine,

This is really really annoying me now and its still drinking fuel!!!!

Tappets re set.

Plugs checked

CTS - Changed (when warm is a needle width below the half way mark- so bang on)

Tick over is approx 850 Rpm when warm and approx 1100 when cold. So think thats okay

No flat spots whatsoever

Drivers very well aprat from black smoke and drinking the fuel!!!

What is it what can I check need any and all suggestions urgently please.

To date I have had a twin DTM fitted and done an oil, oil filter, air filter change and plug change. it went "bad" all of a sudden and as the exhaust and service were done within two days i cant recall which set it off!!!

Oh I have also by passed the MAP sensor (fuel trap) as one of the rubber joints have split so vaccume pipe goes from rear of manifold direct to the ECU missing the fule trap out.

Right thats it please help!!!!!

You can check the lamber sensor with a voltmeter with it still fitted and plugged in, normally the black (signal) and grey (earth) wires. With the engine up to temp you should see it switching between 0.2 and 0.8 volts.
