No I don't and if BL had had more money the Clubman would never have existed because Issigonis would have had his way and his NEW MINI (aka Project 9X), would have been launched instead. (glad the real Mini continued though anyway).

So stop trying to find parallels with what BMW is doing now and what BL failed to do in the past, it's just boring and nobody here really gives a toss.

Taffy I did not start this thread or the 5 others on the Concept MINI 4x4 so I guess some people on here, other than you, do give a toss and would expect to get replies both for and against the Concept MINI.
If everything to do with the current MINI winds you up or is just boring why not ignore any of the very few posts about it and leave them to people who are interested or wish to have a sensible adult discussion about it? Most of us have long since moved on and can have a rational sensible exchange of views and just agree or disagree without resorting to childish abuse or the ignorant BINI bashing and ranting which used to get these threads closed, sadly it appears you can't. Remember at the end of the day they are only cars, life is too short to get angry over peoples choice of car.
Don't really understand your dislike of the BL Special Tuning Clubman 4x4 Rallycross Mini in the 1970's as it was an interesting part of the Minis competition history and I'm sure Issigonis would have shown at least some interest, especially bearing in mind his early motor sport background and the building of his Lightweight Special.

I do tend to ignore most of these type threads, but you appear totally brainwashed to whatever BMW vomits out these days and find that just a bit disturbing. But that's your choice and it's my choice if I choose to comment too after all.

Anyway I've got absolutely nothing against the aborted BL ST Clubman 4x4, but it came to nothing and Issigonis really wanted to launch his own new type Mini in 1969.

So seeing parallels with what monstrosities BMW are dreaming up today and what BL did or shouldn't have done back in the dim and distant past just seems daft.

Even if that Clubman 4x4 had won the Monte Carlo Rally several times, BL would still have gone bankrupt and we'd still have got inflicted with the MiniMetro in 1980.

Anyway I doubt this is the Clubman 4x4, but it is a BL Special Tuning (or rather a Works) Mini Clubman: -

Now, I have no problem with the new standard MINI, I think if you look at it from a non-classic mini enthusiast view, ie look at it as a car it's brilliant, its pretty nippy, handles well and stands out, The only problem i have with it is the MINI badge, because it aint mini!
The new clubman was a joke.
And this "crossover" rubbish is just terrible!
there was a point to the new MINI but these, as said before are just for the $$$$$$$$!

So there is, my mistake, i just assumed, being BMW they'd make it unnecessarily complicated!!!
Might end up being a good car, just shouldn't have the word MINI on it in my opinion.
