Just a quick question.

My dad is getting into the tattoo "trade" to get some extra monies, hes got all the kit etc. Bassically, I want a mini tattoo, buy my mum and dad say they will get done for "abuse" If anybody found out. But surely if i wanted it done, and it was done in my own house it would be fine? Right ? :proud:.

lol thanks.

Surly your Dad has to pass some sort of test? for Skill & Hygiene?

Can't be that simple, buy the kit and you're done.

Its an age thing!! You would have to be above 18 to have a tattoo done legally, as for abuse I don't think so??

But if he wanted to tattoo anyone else, out of the family, I think he would need to get a license from the council. Not only would he need the license, but the building that he would do it in would also need to have one. Obvioudly everything would have to accord to the Health and Safety act (date??).

Anyone else with lil bit more info?

My mates dad does tattoing, and he does people who are under 18 but he does not do it with out the parents permission, and he also makes the parents sign something wich is basically a contract to say that he had permission to do the tatto, dunno if that is legal but thats what he does lol

Anyone can buy a kit, but if you want to do it as a trade, you have to get licenced.

I think you can have a tattoo with parents permission as long as your over 16?

As far as i know, its 18's and over only..

And for doing tattoo's on others, you do NOT need a licence.. although I think you do if you're offering it as a profit making service .

Although on the other hand ive also been told that actual tattooing/piercing does not need a licence, its more of the hygene regulations..

Theres NO WAY id ever have "home brew" tattoo.. theres so much that can go wrong.. even in pristine sterile conditions, my professional one became infected.. so just think about having it done in your own front room or kitchen!!

People will prefer going to an actual building to have their tat done..

just my 2p

No you have to be 18 to have a tattoo done legally..

If Parental permission was allowed for tattoos then they would be doing it in the tattooists... which they done't.. Only peircings are allowed to be done with parents permission if they are under 18 and over 16 (except ears which can be done any age with parental permission under the age of 16)

With regards to a mini.. It would have to be fairly large to get the detail you want.. you can't simply just have a small one...A: it will make it extremely difficult for the tattooist and B... it will not look good at all as the lines will be too close together. A proffessional tattoist will tell you this if you go in.

With trade.. I'm sure you have to have a licence... Especially with regards to health and safety.. They will need to know if the place is hygienic... fresh needles are used everytime (and not sterilised) Gloves are worn.. etc etc..

Naughty naughty! If someone caught them, they would be in big trouble.. UNLESS they can prove they were being lied to about the age of the customer.. for example fake ID.. Simply going by a promise of "yes im 18" is not enough and they will be fined
