the only people that have a problem with gay/lesbians are those that are insecure about their sexuality

Soooo true!!! I know a few people who say

"Oh, I've got nothing against 'them', so long as they don't do it near me!"

and get incredibly agitiated in attempts to prove their heterosexuality/masculinity. BiFurious, we call it. :D

What does it mean though, to 'have a problem'?

Does it mean they don't agree with the lifestyle choice of a homosexual? Does it mean they would critisise them for that choice? If so, what gives them that right to judge someone?

If we are going to go down the 'religious' route, then yes, the three Abrahamic religons (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) are against homosexuality, but they also condone slavery and encourage the murder of those who do not respect the sabbath, but no one seems to take those alst two seriously...

well by a problem I mean, a problem. A problem can be anything, like they feel uneasy being near someone who is gay or they will say stuff about people who are gay, I didn't mean to put ALL, I should of put most, sorry if I offended anyone. Anything religous goes in one and ear and out the other, sorry if I offend anyone again.

Well myself I am gay/bisexual, to be honest I don't really know and don't exactly care because I'm just me, and not a label.

Anyway, imo people are entitled to their opinions. If somebody is narrow minded enough to be biased against somebody for their sexuality then that's their problem. That's also a criticism of religions which very often promote the acceptance and forgiving of everybody.. except homosexuals. Goodness no. Far more of a crime than murder, for example. As Huw said, the whole concept of the bulk of the major religions is fundamentally flawed and in a lot of cases a load of nonsense.

People are allowed their opinions, they can think what they think, i just strongly disagree with them, and particularly the twisted organisations who uphold these 'beliefs'. If there are any religious people reading this I don't deny that most of them are very decent people, but in most cases religions in general are always biased towards some group, and this is unavoidable. I do apologise of i offend anybody, I don't mean to but I do have quite strong opinions.

Also apologies if that was worded slightly strangely but it is late ;) and i've just realised how out of place it is but I'm not deleting it now!

Good for you mate and just look how many Vicars have been done for being paedophiles?

Surely if 2 consenting adults want to have fun and live the way they want (legally), then where is the problem?

But any religious leader or anyone forcing themselves on children is really the worst thing possible.

As for religion, well that's been the cause of most of the worst wars this world has ever known.

Now this is an interesting thread.

Does my decrepid old heart to see people proud of who they are. I've known people who've been in denial (usually due to fear) so long that it eats away at their souls. But this thread has really upped my opinion of this site hugely.

I'm straight and happily married to my beautiful wife, but if i was attracted to men i would certainly act on it. Happiness is a hard enough thing to find.
