Im not homophobic either, at the end of the day there isnt a law saying 'everyone has to be staraight' is there, its their choise what their sexuality is and if anyone doesnt like that then they should just get a life

"Its there choice", Typical.

1st post in here and im straight and happy thanks :w00t:

And about the quote...

Not digging it up or trying to start at anyone, just out of curiosity, what was offencive about saying there choise? Like scotius said, your born like it, but then again personally i would put it down to your growing up enviroment and how you see the world.

Just wondering so i know if its something to be carefull of bluttering out in future :(

i think its more the person you say it to.

i know serveral gay/bi people who find the comment indifferent.. but personally i dont like it, i dont find it offensive, i just dont like it, i think this is because it has been thrown at my in arguments and whatever..

theres just somthing about it that bugs me.. its like we have woken up one day and suddenly decided to be gay/bi...

and yes, i do think the growing up environment has a bit to do with who we are.. maybe it sets the ball rolling or what ever.. but i dont think that if it was different it would make us "different"... i just think it would decide when we act upon our sexuality.. I.E when we get our first partner.. when we come out etc...

not a problem..

and you have brought somthing else up...

i dont understand that some gays/bi`s get all nasty when we are asked genuin questions.

personally i will answer anything, i feel it widens "understanding" and stamps out the arogance that some people have about our culter

sorry about poor spelling, its not my strong point

I just think that you go through so much growing up being gay with acceptance among alot of other things, i dont see why anybody would choose that lifesytyle in there right mind, and actually how anybody can think its a choice.

i think by saying their choice is more of a 'its not upto me to choose for them and put them down'
more like saying live your life your own way, the same as i live mine my way. its not really my choice that i live this way, but its just more the wording of it

if that makes sense

Something I just noticed that's not realy helping in a kind of general reaction to gay/bi people, one of the comics on balls of steel. Called the big gay following he goes around asking for gay sex from random strangers. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to say anything here but in my eyes it's the ones in the spotight so to speak that put a bad impression across. Another example is alan carr, very funny but makes a big faff of everything and draw attension and effectivly puts it in peoples mind 'oh they must all be like that'. Unfortunatly that's a quote I heard not so long ago :D

I think anyone has the potential of 'being scarey' no matter of their sexual preferences :D

I also think some folks trying to say all people act in a certain way because of their orientation need to look at the whole picture. There are many people you wouldn't know are homosexual because they choose not to fit into all the preconceptions others have of how they should look or act and it is the larger than life, loud and proud celebrities that seem to grab all the lime light and add to the preconceptions. At the same time there are straight people who fit into these preconceptions and categories so people who try and dislike others because of their orientations can't always get it right as not everyone fits into their stereotype so I think they need to open their eyes a bit and be more tolerant. Live and let live I say! I am very tired and know what I mean but cannot put it across in a very good way :) Time to switch off me thinks!
