18, insured under mums name with me as extra driver, mods declared, £257 pa. Love it :P

Post office.

Now that sounds like a good deal.

I have found Post Office do good deals for young'ns and old'ns. I just measure up they type of price to be aiming for on moneysupermarket but if you go straight to the site or ring you can get better deals, when you ring up you haggle thats what my mates done these were for boy racer cars not minis, by the way.

PostOffice randomly sent me one through to me about my mini with 1 years no claims full comp and no limited mileage.

IT will get even cheapen when i tell them i've got pass plus completed, and probably do 8k limited mileage.

Despite being a good deal, it's also illegal unless his mother is indeed the main driver. It's called fronting.

On my own insurance when I hit 17 it's going to be about £850 TPFT with ensleigh, unless footman james or liverpool victoria can quote me cheaper!

I was under my mum's insurance before i got my mini. Now i've got my own policy on the mini. It's with a firm called Swinton. Its really good policy. Quite cheap especially saying that i'm only 18 and insurance is normally sky high!

I'm 18 and male with a full UK License and have a 1991 Mainstream Cooper my mods, which are air filter, wide wheel arches, 13x7 alloys and exhaust are all declared and am named driver under my mums name was quoted £1500 when I bought the car while I had my provisional. After I passed my test my mum told the insurance company, who are Quinn Direct and they said I have to pay £700 or the insurance would be canceled because I'm now driving the car on my own. >:) :P

So I ended up having to pay £2200 for my insurance.

I'm going to search till my figures fall off to find the best possible quote when renewal is due.
