Yes you have to phone them, very few insurance companies will insure an under 25 on parents policy now as they have wised up that the parent isnt the main driver.

The best thing to do is fill in your detials on insuresupermarket.com, as mentioned in previous post.

My insurance is £97 full comp, with all mods included, I can drive anyone elses car with TPFT. Also includes breakdown cover, and hire car if needed.... and the best bit.... in 60days they will give me £60 cash back cause it is with the Post Office.

But I am 25, and a professional driver.

Did you do it online Nick?

i take it you're still 16? if so, ring them, tell them your proper birthday, and ask for a new quote, usually a bit cheaper when you talk to them

i went through adrian flux (actually with norwich union in the end, via AF) and mine is £1180 with wide wheels declared, TPFT, with 5000 annual mileage on a 998

I used to be with Norwich union till they wouldnt insure me if i put alloys on! So i now use the NFU (national farmers union) who are not bad at all, Dont know how much it was though :)

NFU dont insure people under 25 any more.

THey changed their policy because soo many youngsters were going with them and crashing because their prices were soo cheap

Got to say, Adrian Flux have given me by far the best quote so far ;) £1439 for a 17-year-old male with Pass Plus and potential TMF+ discount, TPFT, on a 97 MPI Cooper with new seats and exhaust :(

Still a hefty whack, but they gave me a quote (unlike most of the places I phoned, who don't like mods or Minis) and it was a good one (at least £500 less than the next best quote I've had).

Plus, the bloke on the phone was excellent, no problems at all, and he knew his Minis >_<
