Well I've had a thunk & a good deal of googling & forumming.

For the price of a decent brabus roadster, I could get a low mileage Lotus Elise! In the awfulness of management speak, it's a "no brainer"............

I just got this reply from the smartmaniacs forum..........it doesn't bode well for the roadster.

Elise Vs Roadster, no contest really... get the Elise, much better engineered, better power to weight ratio, only disadvantage would be the insurance cost and MPG IMHO.

For me personally though, I'd get a roadster... Because I always go for the underdog...
