Ah yes, my bad Mrs Juju :( I meant the fourtwo.

Mrs is worse, Charlie! :teehee: Why does a woman's marital status have to be included in her title????!!! :) :D If you insist on using a prefix, use Dr.
(oooh, lengthy rant averted there.............well done, Juju...... :) )

I would also like to add there is an independent dealer called smartsrus in Nottingham that always seemed good to me.. http://www.smartsrus.com/

The forums will be a good guide as to what to look out for.

Oh and you can get a lambo door kit for them as well, nice!

Ta! A lambo door kit, you say??!! Oooooooooooooooh............ :)

I know a guy who works for a private Mercedes/Smart/BMW garage in Croydon area, will ask him about what sort of stuff to look out for if you want?

I have just had a reply from my work collegue and I have attached it below.

Hope it helps

A flawed classic.
I had the same issues as everyone else, notably:
Brake pads that disintegrate and ruin the disks. Probably sorted by now.
Gearbox input shaft oil seal leak(Known weakness on all Smarts)
Charge cooler bracket fracture (This is an electrical current path and causes a ticking due to creating a spark gap)
I also had a clutch actuator failure although this is unusual, and a
pitch sensor failure, which caused the ESP light to come on intermittently.
All Smart roadsters suffer from leaks to a greater or lesser extent.
These can range from small drips from the top of the side windows above the mirrors, to complete failure of the SAM unit due to water ingress around the wiper area. This is a known weakness which has caused warranty nightmares, although I did not have this particular problem on either of my roadsters. Check under and behind the seats for dampness in the carpets.
Watch out for sealant around the luggage compartment, particularly under the plastic tray. If there any sign of major leaks, walk away.
Otherwise a fun car.
PS.
Deadly in the wet.

The guy who runs my mini club is selling his brabus. He says its quite good - half the horror stories are myths made up by people who have never driven them.
