Looking good
Then we ripped out the dash and fitted the one from the turbo.

John made up for the radiator mistake by running new wire to make the rev counter work.
Do you think the MOT Man will notice it has done 16,000 miles in the few months since it failed it's test?

The front floor repairs are all welded up underneath and covered in a good dose of underseal.

I've covered the inside repairs in yellow hamerite (to match the outside...). A couple more small patches at the back of the inner sills this morning and (if we get time) the interior will be in this afternoon.
That just leaves the ends of the sills, subframe mountings and the suspension pump up. I measured the height between the centre of the wheel and the bottom of the wheel arch. It's supposed to be about 13 inches. Our's is about 10 inches. No wonder the wheels catch slightly.
We picked up some rocking horse poo this week.

Rear subframe mount repair panels. That way the subframe stands a chance of staying attached to the car...

The GTi seats are really comfy, but they are big. It's quite snug when you're 6" 5'
