Last week we've fitted a central oil pickup

An Oil Temp sender

Straight Cut Drops

And bolted it all together

Posted Image

Then we've been round to Benross' and brought it home to bolt on a few more bits and pieces

Looking good :withstupid:

Wifey was out shopping so we took advantage and did some work in the warm. Man food and a carb rebuild.

Posted Image

Took ages, but it shouldn't leak now. Who ever had been at the carb before us had forced the bottom plate on the wrong way and bent it. > No wonder it leaked.

Some motivating pics of the turbo and carb popped on the engine.

Getting there. Hopefully we'll have the engine fitted at the weekend. :)

The engine is just about ready to go in =]

It just needs the valve clearances setting, actuator adjusting, a turbo heat shield fabricating and filling with oil.

I ended up fitting the water heated/cooled oil filter housing as the starter and dizzy had clearance issues with the normal one.

I got the exhaust hung this morning. When John eventually showed the real work started.

We filled the engine up with oil, back filled the oil pump and turned it over on the starter. The dodgy oil preasure gauge pipe was blocked, so we're not sure how much preasure we got but it was enough to switch the oil preasure light signal. I made a pikey head shield.

Posted Image

Then we dropped the engine in

Posted Image

And made a start on plumbing it in.

It's going to be a little crowded under there when the intercooler is piped in and the oil catch tank is mounted.

Massive wheels & "slamming" it would make it inpractical for what we want it for. It would also look like a chav mobile which we most certainly are not.
