hello all
have just got home from picking up 2x 1275 A+ engines of ebay, got them both for £75 for a long term turbo project, ones good, ones bad, but i have a question:

The good one, the engine number is "12HC16AA 103647" and the gearbox is "DAM 5626", guessworks's decoder told me its a metro turbo and so did another website through google, can anyone clarify this?

It has turbo drain hole where fuel pump normally is!!!!

Judging by the oil drain where the fuel pump normally sits, I'd say thats a bona-fide turbo lump, you lucky, lucky, sod. Where did you pick these up from?

Clean the top of a piston and see if there are any numbers stamped in it?

haha cheers, i thought the same, i picked them up from maidenhead near reading, was a very nice guy but i dont think he knew a great deal about the engines.

Damn i saw those engines and consideed putting a bid in some people have all the luck?

So whats the plans for the turbo what spec?

haha yeah im damn lucky, i missed two others that i bid on about 2 weeks ago, waited a while and then saw these,they were at 16 quid with 2 days to go, so i put a bid in at about 30 seconds left of 75 quid and won.

the plans are nothing spectacular just yet, maybe 100-130hp, will lower the compression ratio, get a decent turbo cam, t2 turbo, mirage manifold etc, get some gearbox work done too but this is my 1 year - 2 year side project so it will be slow but done right........fingers crossed. lol

yeah my shell is good so i dont want to stat cutting it to fit an ugly box section in the middle!! lol, as pistons im probably going to go for some turbo 21253 13cc pistons from morspeed, as ive heard there pretty good for the price, or i might rob a bank and by some forged omega 18cc dished pistons!!! hahaha, what about you? what plans have you got?

I won the 1275gt back seat off the same seller, my mate picked it up for me last night

Did think about bidding for those engines but transport was the issue for me

i cleaned the top of two of them and theres what looks like an "A" stamped in the top

any ideas or info mate?
