Thanks Paul! Yup the metal arch-extender is still attached. Google-ing around looks like I can purchase just one required (https://classicmotor...cooper-s-mk-ii/). Let's hope the paint job doesn't break the bank.

I am thinking of getting sportspack arches and fitting 7X13 minilight wheels, do I need to do anything to the car in order to put the arches and wheels on?

cheers.

cut the front wings to clear the wheels when turning, and possibly fit steering lock limiters to avoid hitting the inner wings

Hi, I've got a damaged rear arch on my 72 mini and I'd prefer to replace just the damaged arch (I appreciated I'd still more than likely have to buy a pack of 4) than change and paint 4 new ones.

I think mine are Group 2 (narrow) - the rears are 1 & 3/4 inches wide. The problem is that they are all slightly different and nearly all of them have a bit of an upstand at the back where the arch meets the bodywork of the car.

Mine definitely doesn't have an upstand. I'll try and attach a few photos.

Below are a couple of links to possible the right arches - what do you think?

Just giving this a nudge - anyone know where to order arches from that will match the ones in the photos?

Thanks

I would say they came from ABS, either the group 2 narrow or maybe narrow Abingdon. send them a pic of the wheel arch see what they think?

Hi just wonder if anyone has the Minispares MS128 http://www.minispare...ssic/MS128.aspx group 5 arch, I want to get a set but picture in Minispares web is not very clear. I would appreciate it if you can give advice to see if it's good quality and how easy to fit, pictures will be great too, thanks very much.

Hi all!

I´m searching for the perfect arches for a 10" wheel and found this image. I really love them but have no idea which arches are. They look alike but are definetly not a Group 5, because of the back part detail and because they seem to be longer in the front part (arche reaches below the bumper)...

Could someone help me? As a clue, it seems it is a '97 japanese mini...

Thanks everyone!

Hi everyone,

I hate to be this person, and I know it's a question that's been dealt with before, but can someone please clarify a few things for me?

I am looking at buying 12x6 Cosmic wheels, which JBW say will poke out by 82.9 mm (3.26") which means I'll need new arches.
I quite like the look of the Group 2 Extra Wide that's featured on page 1 of this thread, and as far as I can tell, the deep dish Superlights beneath them have the same poke, so those arches would be perfect.

However, Group 2 Extra wide can mean a number of things :

Minisport sells Group 2 Race arches which are 89 mm (3.5") wide , so I assume those are the ones used in that picture :
https://www.minispor...s-set-of-4.html

ABS Motorsport sells Group 2 Wide arches, which I thought were the same thing, but they are 76.2 mm (3") wide :
https://absmotorspor...i-group-2-wide/

Then things get much more confusing, because the names start to change :

The closest thing Minispares sells to the two above are called Works Group 5. I thought Group 5 arches didn't have a lip to fit trim, but these do, and they're 82.5 mm (3.25") wide, so bang in the middle :
http://www.minispare...px|Back to shop

I read that Huddersfield sold Group 2 Wide arches under the name Group 6, but these are 95.3 mm (3.75") wide :
https://www.minispar...r-classic-mini/

And finally theres a french shop that sells stuff imported from the UK called The Little Car Shop, and they sell Group 6 arches that are 76 mm (3") wide which would make them the same as the ABS motorsport Group 2 Wides
https://www.thelittl...e-kit-de-4.html

So my first question is : are these measurements accurate or are people throwing quarter inches about?
Which arches should I get? Minispares Works Group 5s seem like the logical choice considering both the theoretical wheel poke and arch width are 3.25". Is the shape different though?
Are there any on that list I should avoid?
And finally, does anyone here have Cosmic 12x6 wheels, and what arches do you use?

thanks for helping me out with this, I'd like to avoid ordering 5 sets or arches just to figure out which works best.

I searched this thread but didn't see what I needed to know. I am considering these Minispares flares for our MK III mini.

https://www.minispar...|Back to search

But, they note that these were jigged to fit perfectly on MK I/MK II shells. Is there really a difference between the early shells and my MK III shell?

Thanks for any help offered.
