my mate has a B16A 120k miles (150bhp) complete for £250 and another friend has the bottom end from a B16B (172bhp) and wants £150 (its recently been re-sleved and new rings)... it must be noted that its the head that adds the extra 22bhp to the import model

how complete is the b16a? gearbox, ECU, Driveshafts, loom, ancillaries? i'm tempted for a b16 in my crx although i might just turbo my d16

i dunno ill have to ask but im fairly sure its 100% complete because he's putting the FRV 2.0 in with a b16 head (frankenstein as i said in an earlier post for anyone wondering), he's bought a head separate, and i think that means he needs nothing from his other engine, ill ask. You might not get the loom though, thinking about it.

is your crx a valver? i always thought the vtec crxs were B's, not sure on the del sols mind

del sols had the VTi verson of the B.

D16's are nto rubbish for starters by the time you have got your VT to 5k for the Vtec to kick in (yo!) i'm gone because of the better power distribution, besides D series CRX's are lighter too.

However in a mini you'll be lucky to get the weight down to less than 500KG

Jammy, can i have dibs on the D Vtec, should you not use it please?

aye, slight exageration on weight but it was the point i was trying to make...

Im not for one minute saying D's are rubbish, i know they're not because i had the SOHC version in an ek and it was alright but i always got spanked by lsi's and vti's... I was carting around a silly sound system too tho!! As for the 5k rpm issue, meaning you have to pretty much redline each gear to drop into the vtec for the next gear, you can buy off the shelf re-maps which can move the vtec, my friend running 200horse has his vtec at 4000rpm on a B16A, its mint!

its wierd you said vtec (yo!) if you're on the crx forums, he's called vtec yo! or something similar...
