Had a great time, nice and burnt, now panicking like mad to get started on IMM prep - Mary will be going as a rolling Work In Progress as I dont have the time or money to restore her till next year.
Need to sort out what needs doing printing wise.
Banners are easy enough, i was thinking 10ft by 1.5ft printed banners for filler, plus two banners to be suspended inside the marquee, ( so 1.6m ish high ) with all the MQ and DesignerRegister info on them.
Im also hoping a flag hasnt been ordered yet, as £50 seems a bit steep. For £26.45 + vat + postage I can get 5metres x 1.3 metres of printable flag material which would make 4-5 pretty big flags. Although with all this i do have to watch the ink levels as a new set of cartridges is c£500 lol
Mary is sat on the drive atm with no wheel, hub carrier, ball joints, brakes etc at the moment, think I have all the required parts, so just a case of putting it back together now. Had to get a mechanic out to split the joints and then it was holiday time.
I do have a 9m x 3m marquee, which we could use, used it for my wedding and it worked a treat, but that was in a shielded garden, would mean we could get all cars, equipment, display etc under it.
Supposed to be working now so will wait for replies before typing any more. Good to be back!

A quick costing is £10,000,000,000,000 but with TMF discount it works out as a few beers.
Ive no problem with using the marquee, just gotta figure a way to tie it down - it really is HUGE though.

Now... on to business *Grins*
1) We're a little stumped on having a massive gazebo I'm afraid, space is at a premium on the display field. Hence I think a downsize to a 3x3m would be preferable. The one I'm watching at the moment is a mere £17, white and comes with 4 sides and all the lines to secure it. It's got a week to go, but there's no interest in it. Seller has 6 to get shot of.
2) We'll just need info posters (A3 size should be sufficient) for the inside of the display, I can (of course) supply all the info you need about Designers

3) Flag hasn't been ordered as I took one look at the price and went "Yeah, right!! I could hand paint it cheaper than that!"
4) There are legal implications to running a raffle unless it's for a charitable concern. We could, however, run a jumble or an auction with no come-back from my understanding as these aren't gambling.
5) Monty's up for his MOT this weekend... Wish him luck!

In responserandumous:
1) Smaller Marquees work for me. Less printing and easier to manage, mine can take forever to get up *ahem* and needs for or five people.
2) We might have to go a wee bit bigger on the displays, as printing A3 is a little small for the printer, see attached image of the machine lol. A0 okay? High res versions of the strip would be great - vectorised images in eps or ai or corel would be FANTASTIC lol. Ill put some blurb together and send it off to ya for GottaApproval hehe.
3) Hand painted flags are just as good to be honest. Getting stuff printed we dont need is just a bit heavey on the pockets at the moment. Make it or mend it my mum says.
4) Agree, raffles require a license from the local council as far as I understand, jumbles and auctions dont - auctions might be tricky as everyone would really need to be there at the same time.
5) Good Luck Monty!

everyone gets a pice of paper if they like a item and write down their name, contact number, and how much they would bid for it
then at the sunday afternoon i check to see who bids the highest and they win - and pay - and collect!
thats prob better
erm 3m by 3m is that big enough for both cars? and balloons?

1) Marquee/Gazebo is on the the list then

2) A0 posters would be physically immense, we'd only need one at that LOL!! With all the info on it! I can supply raster or vector artwork (given a few hours to re-digitise the logos this weekend) in JPG, PNG, TIFF, CMX/CDR, & PSD formats... let me know which of those is best for you.
3) I'll take a trek to the Birmingham rag market then and see if I can find a suitable bit of cloth for the flag and some fabric paint.... that is if we want a flag for our camping space, so we can all find our way 'home' in tent city? That then raises the issue of what we're going to attach it to... hmmm... Who's got the biggest tent out there?

4) Auction sounds fair enough

5) Monty's gone 'home' to Longbridge, to be MOT'd by a tame ex-Longbridge mechanic that I know very well. So hopefully he'll come back with a green sheet.
