UPDATE: Been another crash

Crocks has written off his mini joey.

He spun at 80 MPH backwards into the armco... thinks it was oil. its ripped the front wheel off with the hub still connected and its bent the shell.

RIP Joey. :)

Crocks is okay... a little sore and upset hes lost Joey.

;) :- ;)

If it's oil he can claim everything off the person who spilled the oil.
If you have a leak it's your duty to pull over ASAP and warn others of the spill.

was going too say this earlier in a text, but wasnt overly sure of it.

Re oil spils.... it is your responsiblity to stop however you need to know your dropping it first.

There was several people last year who went out knowing they were dropping oil/fuel (you know who you are), yet it didn't stop them. Depends if someones car has shat themselves

However, many porsche drivers drop coolant due to turning their GT3/Turbos/Carreras in to kettles so it could have been coolant.

IMO unfortunatley, if there are porsches, audis, lambos and all them sort of cars, then a group of minis, i know which car will be more likley to have dropped oil on the track

Very true, but there's been many a case of bikers suffering major injuries, even dying because of spillages on the track so the officials are keen to help if something has gone wrong because of a spillage. One of the countless photographers around the track will probably have seen who caused the spillage if there was one.

are you sure he did not just lose it? after all minis are famous for turning in on a lift ( back end going very light after removing your foot from the throttle)
it happened to me in Rotherfield about 25 years ago, went round the corner backwards! and I did not hit anything well lucky. I knew the road like the back of my hand drove up and down it 4 times a day.

Hang on a sec 80 mph crash? Where on the track? There isn't many sections a mini could do that.

however Maph you are right the ring has plenty of vairiables other than having a talent/fail interface issue....

i dropped fuel on the ring last year and if i had of known i wouldnt have NOT gone out obviously!!!!
it was only until i was boxed in dangerously by 2 orange porches that i became aware of it. i felt bad but i was let out of the crash exit thankfully without paying the fine 2 be recovered unlike others sadly...
i wouldnt want someones death on my hands by spilling fuel etc knowing full well i was... :)

did not want to sugest that the person cant drive, the fact that so many things can happen ie, a beer fart makes you puke, the jegermeister the night before is doing your head in. you fall asleep (that happened last year in the 24hr race) you dont need oil or petrol on the track. :)
