i had the same exact problem its jus a wire in your light that neeeds switching lol its that simple

I don't think so, given his horn also isn't working... they are fed by the same feed from the fusebox, purple wire...

Mind didn't flash properly for years until I replaced the column stalk. I could get them to work temporarily if I fiddled with the contacts, but they were never reliable.

oh ok i hadnt read that his horn didnt work lol but i had the same problem and it was jus that a wire need switchin in the lights

the guy who i bought it off hadnt dun it right lol

The headlamp flasher and horn should work independent of anything else, part of the MoT test. As jupitus said they share a common purple feed to the stalk so work back from there. Even late cars with relays work the same. The relay is ignition dependent to stop you driving around on just side lights, if you have your side lights on, then turn the ignition on, the headlights should light - at reduced brightness because they're supplied via that big resistor thingy under the bonnet.

we have had constant problems with the electricals any way so i can wait to get it sorted

Bit off topic but i've had a look this morning to change the bulb in my headlight and there doesn't seem to be any way of taking the bulb out, do i need to replace the whole light?
