You can just use the standard Honda ECU, but I think it requires a bit of rewiring. Other use the DTA engine management, which requires mapping when its all set up. I'll be going with Megaquirt, and the standard injection, may upgrade to Integra TBs at a later date.

so is it quite easy to setup then? I take it you use megasquirt instead of the ecu?

In other words you could buy an engine without ecu?

Yea, you can buy the engine without ECU, but its nice to know I have it there as back up. And I'm a bit apprehensive about using MS from the get go, rather than doing the conversion then converting to MS.

As for seting it up. It shouldn't be immensely difficult, but then I haven't done it yet! lol

the more i see and hear the more i want to do it. especially afetr looking at the site with the standard front bell nose.

i like where they mounted the alternator actually. do you just use custom belts for that?

I believe my alternator will be in the normal place, but I think I can do that because I'm relocating the rad. I assume if you were to relocate the alternator then you would get different belts. I think most people just measure the length they need and find something to match.

that one in miniworld is a bit of a joke as honda engines go. Nice intake temp running the filter off the manifold and an exhaust with a smaller bore than honda originally designed. I would expect with just them restrictions it'll struggle to hit 130bhp.

oh and steve i have learnt my lesson. not to drive pissed off :w00t:

Another milestone passed. Today I collected the Honda engine, and the shell also went up to Eddie's workshop!

Should see some real progress on this now.

Bit slower than I'd hoped. Had a couple of interesting developments with regards to getting a 10" wheel friendly Honda FD, but will have to see what becomes of them. At the moment I'm leaving A_SERIES_SUPPLIES to build the space frame, while I finalise some of the design and work on the dash PC. Been a bit busy though lately, hope to get some moulds of the CF mirrors and steering wheel in the next week or two.

Cool, all sounds exciting.
To what extent is the PC going to be used?
Im currently playing with a single chip to communicate with megasquirt and display on an EL screen.
Its orange on a black background. Its like a bigger version of MegaView. :xxx:

Failing this ill just resort to the computer and a nice screen, or even a PDA with wireless tuning. :proud:

But there will probably be a computer in as well for tuning and stuff.

Could end up looking like this (but this is just picture being displayed).
