What a Plum!

Sounds like something i'd do :goaway:

It doesn't sound like something you'd do at all! You'd have to be welding to do that! ;)

He is a plum though! :P

I know have a third Honda engine to put in the garage! So one for RWD, one for FWD, and one to stick in the passenger seat in case of emergencies! Engine number is D15Z3, which means it should be a Vtec-E, and have that all important 3.25 FD, making the gearing suitable for 10" wheels, but it also means its probably just 90bhp. So tuning might have to be done! >_<

Also, picked up a Cebora spotwelder on the way back, working, with several other attachments for the bargain price of £50!! :)

More progress pics and work to be done tomorrow. I was going to try and get some work done tonight, mainly stripping the gearbox down to check the FD, but 6 hours of driving (2-3 in traffic jams) and little sleep last night means I'm too tired! :ermm:

WOW nice find >_< im thinking i might buy a spot welder sometime because the majority of things that i have needed to weld on my mini would have originally been spot welded.

Nice to see you will be progressing with your mini  good luck on getting it ready by the ring

Had a quick (actually it took me half the day) strip down of the gearbox. Found out that the FD is 18/67 teeth, which makes it a 3.7 final drive. Not the 3.25 I was hoping for, but should still be better than the 4+ that are in most Honda boxes. Also found out that the engine is from a 98-00 5 Door Civic/Touring, and from either Poland or Germany, which makes deciphering the engine loom even harder, as the wire colours aren't the same as the ones in the Haynes! >_< Oh, and its a hydro gearbox, which makes my life a little bit easier as I no longer have to mod the pedal box!

Didn't have time to finish the sill, will do it tomorrow.

Any chance you can get a hold of a German Haynes manual for a Honda Civic and get Leigh or someone with fluent German language skills to help translate?

He's suspiciously quiet at the moment. Either he's out there in the garage working his nads off, or he's faked his own death to avoid having to pay Bounce his 50 squid. :P

you left something in the sill when you welded it up so you have to cut a hole in it to get it back out?

Ding ding ding! Five points to MM! Was looking everywhere for a file, and then thought back to the previous night when I placed it on the inner sill and thought to myself "I should move that before I put the outer sill on, otherwise it would be really silly of me to weld the sill on with that stuck in there!". :P

LMAO...this was the talk of Drag Wars!!!! :(
