Well, just to prove I haven't completely given up on this, heres an update. I've been spending a few hours at a time on this. So I've patched a hole on the passenger side floor pan, and the passenger air vent. The passenger sill has been taken off, and I have a new one ready, and I've also cut off the passenger side scuttle corner and closing panel, ready to weld in new panels. Need to get two doorstep repair panels, and that should be all the panels I'll need to complete the bodywork. I got a lead soldering kit for my birthday as well, so I can use that to make the repairs look perfick, and also for my planned rear light design. They'll be no filler on the metal parts of this body!!

Theres been a slight change on plan with the subframe. I was going to do a real nice looking one using CDS tube, much like Z Cars front subframe. However, it would take a long long time to build the jig and ensure all the mounting positions are in the right place. So, was talking to Ed4ran and he's inspired me to take the mini front subby and chop it up. So last week I got a mini front subby, and welded some reinforcement to the tie bar mounts, to make sure they didn't go anywhere when I chopped the front of the subby off. However, looking back at my work tonight I've realised the bar on the left will interfere with the gearbox, so I've chopped it off ready for it to be welded back on in a different position! Also, I'd hoped to leave all the towers in place too, but after a quick measurement I've found the pot joints are much wider than the towers, so that plan is out the window, and it looks like its going to be a touch harder than the Suzuki frame, and harder than I'd hoped.

Also, won some KAD handbrake quads on Ebay a few weeks back, bought a Spoon Titanium gearknob (can't even weigh it on my bathroom scales its so light) and just won a pair of KAD rear hubs on Ebay too! Think thats it for the purchases lately.

If you start messing with metro subframes on the front you have to start messing with the rear, which also means changing wheels and arches!!
Also im fairly sure Jammy wants 10 inches of pleasure!!!

Is this because the Metro frame increases the front track?

Anyway, nice to see an update Jammy. Did you have a tinker with that front frame that I gave you? It's deffo worth chopping up a bad one to experiment with before you sacrifice a good un!

LOL! Yea, I was just looking at it, since the pot joints are my main datum for getting the engine where I want it, and it just suddenly dawned on me that they are much wider, by several inches too! However, need to look again, might be that it only needs a bit of cutting to get the pot joints to go through the driveshaft holes in the subby.
