Well I've double checked the Fluke Motorsport website and it says this under the description for these seats:

These race seats are suited to kit-car, roadster and touring car applications, for example Caterhams, Westfields, Sylvas, Furys, Locosts, MK cars, VX220s, Elises, Mini's and similar race cars, the possibilities are endless.

So at least Mini's are directly mentioned. However I've emailed them to double check anyway!

Received this email just before 5pm yesterday:

The seats are universal as such and can be used in any car, specific
attention was paid to strengthening around the shoulder/head area to
similar seats in the sector (in fact, it's the prime reason we began
making them five years ago!). It is MSA law regardless of this in
Caterham that the head still has to be supported, but this was because
the earlier R500 Tillet seats had a known weakness in that area.

So looks like I'll be ok to use them! ;)

I also mentioned I had a bolt missing for one of the runners, to which they've said they sent me a replacement bolt set FOC. So I must say, with the quick email reply and the offer to replace the bolts, the customer service so far has been excellent!

Well a 'last page of the book twist' in the Eddie saga!!

Went up to the workshop today, as I wanted to get inside the other shed that Eddie was renting, and I hadn't been able to gain access to yet. I arrived and found the landlord, asked how he was, bla bla bla, and before I could even say anything about the shed he said 'I gotta clear out the shed, theres some engines in there, one of which maybe yours!' ;)

So, yea, found my old engine, and also the motorbike wing mirrors I bought, and the doors to my shell, the front end we cut off, and I think the bootlid is in there too! :D w00t: No sign of the LSD Honda gearbox though!

So its a kind of a bittersweet twist; the one thing I want and need, the LSD gearbox still is missing, and the one thing I've already replaced is the one thing I've found! Still, should be able to get some cash back by selling it.

Well I've now got two B16 Honda engines (although I think one is a B16 and the other is a B16a1). I'll see if theres any difference between the two, if there is I'll use the better one. If there isn't I'll just sell whichever.

Hmmm, but with two B16s I would be tempted just to make two balls out racers! :D

No no, I MUST sell one, which will give me some money back to get this one done quicker! ;)
