This is more a little note for myself than an update. Just bought a Honda S2000 electronic dash which I tend to tinker with and use. Here's what it looks like standard:

And this is the link I don't want to forget.

As for anything else happening I have nothing to report. Not been able to get upto the workshop recently due to circumstances out of my hands.

I've decided to design the frames and suspension myself, so I've spent the few weeks getting in books and learning about suspension systems, etc. I've actually found it really interesting, definitely something looking at if your interested in kit cars, get the best handling out of your car, etc. If you want to know a couple of books to read just ask and I'll put up some recommendations.

Other than that I've been rebuilding an engine and doing a couple of odd jobs on my other mini so I can sell that and spend that money on a new wave of stuff for this project!

Oh, and I have another Honda gearbox as well. One with an LSD! :o

Jammy what books have you been reading about suspension etc? Just out of interest...

Also any recomendations on engine/ cylinder head modification/tuning books? (obviously not just for a series engines)

I've got several books now on suspension and chassis design....

Competition Car Suspension by Allan Staniforth - Really REALLY good book, excellent explanations, fantastic diagrams and lots of pics of F1 cars and bits to drool over!

Chassis Engineering by Herb adams - Its ok, better books out there, and its American. I wouldn't buy this book, and would recommend other books before this one.

Auto Math Handbook by John Lawlor - Excellent reference book for most the equations for anything automotive.

Speedpro Series' The Sports Car & Kit Car Suspension & Brakes High-Performance Manual by Des Hammil - Another very very good book, explains all the basics of car handling, weight distribution, etc. Read it cover to cover in a few days. Its probably the best introductory book I've read, falls short of explaining in depth (has no formulas etc for working out Centre of Gravity, etc).

If you want to learn about suspension, brakes, chassis design, etc. I definitely recommend the Speedpro book and the Competition Car Suspension books. Also, the 'How to Build a Sports Car for £250' is meant to be very good.

Yea, thinks are currently at a stand off due to it being at Eddie's workshop, which he's now moved out of. He says he has new premises, but the shell hasn't been moved there, and I'm unsure of where the Honda engine is. Hopefully I'll have it sorted in a week or so, but it kinda feels like I'm going backwards at the moment! :'(
