I'm taking your advice and not connecting the ammeter, but once I bought it and made a hole for it on the dash, i decided toat least light it.
The volt-meter is working fine, and tomorrow afternoon I'll install the tacho.
Will inform how it went.
Thanks again

Now that you've cut that 52mm hole for the ammeter (that isn't hooked up), why not find yourself a vacuum gauge? These are VERY useful gauges on almost any car. I find they can be used for tuning, diagnosis, and when combined with careful use of your right foot... they can significantly improve your fuel economy.

Good luck with the tach. Let us know how it goes.

I already have a vacuum, oil pressure, volt-meter, water temp, amp, clock (veglia), tach and speedometter.
What else can I install?

You already have a heavy compliment of gauges. The only other instrument I can suggest would be either a fuel/air meter or an exhaust pyrometer. I don't consider either of these to be necessary... but they would fill that extra hole.

I've been searching for a fuel/air meter or an exhaust pyrometer, and only find an exhaust pyrometer (all very expensive on ebay).

As the rev is concerned I couldn'nt make it work.

And my engine's head gasket burned last friday on the way to a mini meeting.
Should I post the pictures of that meeting?

You could connect up the amp meter if you want. It's a bit more installed, but if done properly there is no risk of fires etc. unless you're in a major accident...
Air/fuel mixture gauges are kinda tricky because you need to buy a lambda sensor and install it etc. which is a lot of bother (unless of course you have an injection mini which will already have the sensor I assume).
Only other gauge I can think of is oil temperature? Not very useful unless a race-engine, but just another pretty needle to look at!
Or just get a working tachometer :D

This is very sad becausethe tach was very expensive (75 euros) as a working one.
Now I have a new priority -- repair the engine that burned last friday.

Do you think the tach could be repaired?

What makes you think you have damaged it, is it connected exactly as described earlier ? And was it from a reputable seller on Ebay (did you get it off Ebay ?)

I've had some gauges in the past that the bezel could be carefully twisted & removed (and some I've carefully prised off) to get inside but there's not much you can do unless a wire is physically adrift plus the whole thing is very delicate once out of it's shell and you have to be pretty careful.

Double check all the connections and check the coil again, you may find the coil is marked 15 & 1 (or B & 1) rather than +/-, if so it's the "1" you want, not the 15 or B terminal.
