Where do you find these odds & sods?

That's because I'm a lazy slacker... :D
Could've finished her ages ago... :-

Guess who can't wait either...?

Thought today is a good night to finish the speedo pod.

So started with drawing a few lines, take some measurements.

Posted Image

And as I was on the highest point of uncertainity wheter it's all centred and aligned:
Took the compass saw and blew some holes into the f***er ;)

Posted Image

As I only had a 92mm saw, I had to extend the holes by 3mm (radius) with a cutter and file:

Posted Image

Ended up with this after some minutes. Quite pleased.
And now it's evident, why the pod needed the reinforcement on the backside.
There would've been no flesh for the 52mm gauges.

Posted Image

Then startet to find a good position for the 52mm gauges:

And ended with this this time.
Sexy little beast! Well chuffed!! :o :dontgetit:

So time for a bit of vynil to cover the frontside.
It's now drying 'till tomorrow.

Looking good! ;) Finish tomorrow... ;)

Thanks! Don't mind - I'm not the first doing this :o
(Maybe first using 100mm clocks...? )

Finished today.

Fake leather on, cut down and chrome strip put back on.
Then cut the holes free with a nail scissors and put the clocks in.

Tem gauge on bottom is place holder for the fuel gauge to come.
And I just noticed that I will have to do new brackets for speedo & tacho as the triumph ones don't fit ;)

Jan

I don't know, to be honest. I need them to be approved by the TÜV (german MOT) and registered into my vehicle's papers. The engineers usualy don't like doing that if there's no numbers on, or recordings for a part... German accuracy at it's best - I love it... But I'm sure I'll find someone who's willing to do it. ;) And if so, they go on (if not - we'll see :))

How's that in the UK? You can just stick any wheel on and it's ok, as long as the tyre's not stretched too much and the thread is coverd, me thinks?
