Hi guys.
i am in the process of having a 2 piece steel flip front made using the pressed front grill the van origionally had, its all welded up and it twists more than we were expecting when you open it. has anyone else had this problem and short of welding the bonnet in, is there a nice solution that doesnt look too industrial (IE welding more metal to it )
thanks in advance

I bolted the bonnet in, which meant that i could use small washers as spacers to fettle the fit. Also, the lower parts of the front panel are very flimsy where the hinges mount, this area needs some strengthening straps really.... I welded in some straps, which you can see in the piccy below, these made a lot of difference...

Thanks Syholl.
that was very usefull, i was thinking about using some struts to support the front end when its open and now i definatly am! they look great, what were the ones you used, i was thinking maybe using some from a saloon or estate boot.
