my girlfriend has a 97 twinpoint mpi rover mini cooper and the drive belt has broken. we will be going to edinburgh in a week, flying to glasgow and driving to edinburgh.

is there any recommendable stores for classic minis in that area?

please move this thread if it was posted in the wrong forum.

I know a few on the outskirts of Edinburgh, Boab on here will know the Glasgow side better, where exactly will you be so we can give you the closest place?

i dont remember exactly where we will be staying, but as we will be renting a car it wont be a problem if the store isnt close by. if there is some of them more worth visiting than the others we can drive a little extra for that. :(

looking forward to the millitary tattoo :D

Most autoparts stores in glasgow or edinburgh should be able to sort you out with a drive belt for a mini, you dont necessarily need a mini specialist.

Well why don't you do what most glaswegians do, bypass the mini store and just go about stealing the bits you like :D

we're now back from scotland and had a good time. we went to miniworks, but struggled to find the shop, it was a bit more of a garage than a shop than what we was looking for. :techsupport: but the owner was a nice bloke and my to-be father in law got to talk to a guy that ran a mini-shop he used when he was young and lived in edinburgh. all in all a good trip and my GF got some parts-catalogs :D

edit: and i know now that glaswegians are people from glasgow. :P although glasgowians would be a better word IMO ;)
