i want to ust that blackboard sort of finish on mine.

A real stealth badger look to it!!

How bad is it to fit the FG flip front because i am thinking of doing one myself and keep putting it off because of people saying how bad a fit they are?

Satin black is half between matt black and shiney black
so you get the dull of matt, but with the smooth of the shiney,
which makes it easier to keep than matt.

Flip front- it actually isnt too bad of a fit, but its the other side that is the problem, but its not too bad, and its probably the main thing to do.

I got a quote the other day for getting my wellers Powder coated white, and they said £20 per wheel. so i may do that.
I still need to decide on arches, but they depend on things like which disc brakes i get and if im gonna use any spacers.

got a few little bits today, fuel hose for pump to carb, new choke cable, small real of wire, and some plug adaptors for my coil pack.

not much progress,
but last night i ordered a load of little bits that i need to get a couple of things done.

and yesterday i got some lovely rear lights from Domino

and ive got the drivers seat in (makes doing stuff to the interior easier)
also got the fuel tank partly in, (have a small problem with the mount point)

ive got some material and foam to do the roof liner (im not buying one for £130) its gonna be white vinyl on 1" foam.

so here they are. :) (i really like the standard colours)

I prefer the standard lights too, I think they look neat and tidy.

How much longer do you think before its alive again??

hmm, dont know, just depends how long stuff takes (guess thats obvious), and the bits that are left to do are probably the biggest jobs.

Todo (need to get it otr) :)

Flip front (fit and paint)
Doors (paint and fit)
Boot lid (new hinges etc on the way)
Roof liner (in process)
Glass (after roof liner)
Brake pipes to and on front hubs
Front lights / wiring (modify it for flip front)
Grille (when i get one)

So not too much to do.
Then anything else will be extras that arent essential for it to be on the road, so i can do then later.

Ok I've just spent the last half hour catching up from when I last checked your progress! My god you don't hang about do you??!?! :saywhat:

It's looking sweet!!!  Absolutley cracking job! :)

Also re-read my comments about having a fibreglass shell! Wasn't being smug!! I was just relieved at my luck for finding it!! :) So thanks for your offer Jimbo for a fist through it but I'd prolly suggest you don't actually want to do that :cheese:

Anyway well done chap! Colours great the finished mini should be sweet as!!

Thanks

My god you don't hang about do you??!?!

Would you believe me if i said i dont have much else to do? :fear:

A bit more progress today,
I have been getting the flip front to fit better,
and have been attaching the lights (so all the holes are drilled and ready)
ive just got to drill the holes for the Dezus fasteners down the sides,
and the back mounts for the bonnet (brakets are ready).

...and if i had a grille I would put that on.

Tomorrow i plan on doing some more on the front, but also getting the doors ready to paint so i can paint them and the front together.

those seats dont colour co-ordinate though

They're not that bad, but they will be replaced once the main running components of the car are sorted.

Small update.

Boot area is complete, boot lid on, tank in, battery in, lights on etc.
Front has progressed, but still not finished (although not far to go) when its done ill prep it and the doors for paint, then paint.
Will be doing head liner this weekend, then i can get on to putting in windows.
and finishing the odd jobs (like washer bottle, and brake pipes).

Now more dust on the body work, (i dont know where its coming from  ).

at the mo im just getting it on the road, then ill be playing with engines etc, but i may put it on, at least till i build a better engine.

You think a 7 port head with twin 45's (and turboed) would be overkill?
