Well over the last few days ive been working on the arches and bootlid,
Ive got the arches bolted on, but they still need some sanding to get them looking and fitting better,
although they fit to the body pretty good they are slightly different side to side so they need adjusting
(as in one has a slightly bigger lip) :-

Also got the locking pins in my bootlid so it just needs a bit of sanding and i should be able to paint it.
The white rings around them are metal plates to stop someone digging out the lock,
they are shiney (the white is protective plastic on top)
But i dont know if i should keep them shiney or paint them? :proud:

I'd be tempted to try and put the protective plate on the inside of the boot and bond it to the boot skin. Then it will provide the protection and all you will see is a neat lock on the outside.

It already has one on the inside,
But as the boot lid is fibreglass i think it does need them to stop someone digging around the lock and pushing it in.

Hence bonding them on, they'd have to dig thorugh or round the disk too. But if there is already one on the inside maybe they are best on the outside.

Currently bonding the back plate on would be very difficult as its a double skinned bootlid rather than just a bootskin.
But it might just be possible.

I think it would be better if the outside plate was just smaller. but that is probably harder to do than bonding the inside one on.

Ive decided im going to try bonding the back plate on,
and if they want to try and break in then they will still have to dig around the back plate
whether or not the front one is on,
and if i think the front one needs to go on then its just bolts on under the lock.

On another note: Posted Image
