Think i've been watching this thread and am still yet to post up on it.

more and more i see minis being modified to take differnt engines, this one to me, sticks out from the crowd, whilst i appreciate the engineering that go into these, it bores me to find another V-tec, another R1 bike engine, K-series etc etc etc.

you my dear sir have gone for a Swift engine, and i don my hat (not a flat cap) to you. It's great, and a welcomed relief from the norm! I hope it goes well!.... still waiting for some nice pics of the dash though ;) does it light up and everything hehehe shiny!

Anyway, just to say this, you're a legend for doing all this work and keeping this thread going, i'm still wading through the bowels of A-series engines which i have a deep love for, but my next mini wiull definatly be something that looks stock on the outside, but hides a modern beasty inside, hopefully something non vauxhall lol!

As always the test drive didnt happen as i had too many oil leaks so i wasnt allowed onto the drive, so i had to pull the sump, thats job in itself. only got that back on today. :w00t: refilled with oil, and ill have to see if theres any more leaks.

On another note i have prepped and primed the boot lid, and today my order from minispares turned up,
New arches, locking pins for the boot lid, and a new boot seal.
So now ive got to fit the pins to the bootlid, and get the brakets made for the opening (strips of metal slightly bent).
So while im at it i thought i could paint the arches, but they kind of look ok with the white roof????
I can always remove them again as they will only be bolted on. So i could just give the edges a sand to get the smooth.

Let me know what you think!!!

and yes i know the whole car needs lowering, but that means replacing all the springs!! :'(

I think i might keep them as they are for now, can always paint them later,
Will give them a bit of a sand to get them fitting better, and looking smother,
but otherwise just bolt them on,
which i know is being lazy, but means i can get other things done, like the bootlid.

got some stainless allen key bolts to hold the arches on though so i think that will look nice. :w00t:

They are group 5 arches from MiniSpares
technically i have the same track as a mini with standard discs and spaced rear drums, (although i dont use spaced rear drums)

I love the arches! Im going to have to get ordering some now to go over my Wellers. I think arches painted would look good, but would leaveit for now too.

Yeah I had a look at the more expensive ones but they see to be a different shape. Have you got any side views of the car with them on?
