Well its going to be slightly less depth (by a few inch) but wider because theres no tank. So overall not a huge amount less than a normal one, although it may look alot less.

The back box was only £1 and it was the right size and it was located in Lincoln so i picked it up so no postage cost. But thanks anyway.

Not a huge amount :dozing: progress has slowed.

Exhaust is 80% done (all 3.5 feet of it)
gearchange is working, the brackets just need bolting down and tidying up.
Clutch works (again the brackets need bolting down and tidying).
Engine is pretty much complete now (head is on), just need to attached exhaust and inlet manifolds (which are just sat on).

old engine is out, just need to remove driveshafts from the cv joints so then the fuel tank can go in when it arrives (thanks to Dale), and then the rad.
I picked up some alloy tubing, yesterday, for the coolant lines (to go under the car).

Might start wiring today (its very simiple) and once the engine is plumbed then i can start it.

Also at dragwars i got a KN filter (universal one) for the sum total of £3
gave it a clean and now its AGAN. :geek:

Trying to sort a set of dials, but thats a secret side project :o

Still have a long list of things to do though :xxx: seems never ending.

Well i thought it was about time i did an update, although it isnt much :(

Ive got the fuel tank mounted and plumbed just not bolted down yet as im waiting to run the coolant lines (waiting for 90 degree bends and clips)
Also got the front sitting at a better height, just need to pull the hilos off again to make some spacers so they're locked off (i know they have nuts but the nuts are too thick so im making spacers).
Have decided to move the gear stick back as when i put a seat in the car it was a little too far forwards.
Got the accelerator cable ready to fit as well as a few other bits.
Ive pulled the brackets for the various parts off to clean them up and paint them which is why a few things are just sat there in the pic.
Back end is up as ive pulled the bottom coilover brackets for cleaning + trimming, and i decided to fit new brake pipes.
Wont be long till i start the engine (fuel pipes at engine end and fuel in the tank.
Wideband lambda is also fitted ready to start tuning ;D

Anyone else got heavy duty lower suspension kit on back order from MiniSpares? (MSSK3008)

Told you i'd do a red loom :dontgetit:

Thats brilliant ed! I thought the exhaust would be louder, given the length of it. when are you planning to get it back on the road for?

well done, its a nice milestone to hit getting the engine in and started.
gives you a bit of a kick to get more done.

Also getting it driveable and getting it to handle are two differant things, although you might be at an advantage to me as your a bit lighter at the rear.

see you've gone the megasquirt route, I'm seriously thinking of using it on my V8 when the funds are replenished.

Si

Yeah, it is a nice milestone, and the next is driving it down the street,
Have ordered some uprated springs for the rear today so hopefully they might turn up tomorrow, but im off to germany tomorrow for a week so not too much will happen.

Yeah megasquirt is fun (had it already on the A series so just stuck it on this), just need to tune it.

In the vid its idling at about 950rpm (blimps to start with but settles)

More bits turned up today as well, but alot of the stuff is dependent on the grinder which my brother lent to his boss, so until that returns im quite limited on what i can do.

Would defo be too loud, would need something to keep it with in sound limits. Also at the mo the gearbox casing is in the way a bit so will have to get it hacked off.
