What make of backplate is that? Looks like someone has spent some time balancing it but the welds are a bit ugly!

Avon 2010 results
last weekend i went to avon for the showdown what a wekend.
here is my first and the best of my run times

Sat first ever run : 60 - 2.668
330 - 7.265
660 - 10.895
mph - 67.51
990 - 13.895
1320 - 16.593
mph - 86.12

5 runs later Sat: 60 - 2.624
330 - 6.744
660 - 10.158
mph - 71.12
990 - 13.054
1320 - 15.666
mph - 88.87

After a bit of a beer clouded first run I got back into it and managed another 5 runs and managed my best time in : 60 - 2.606
330 - 6.696
660 - 10.099
mph - 71.39
990 - 12.984
1320 - 15.587
mph - 89.15

The only good excuse I come up with for my poor performance is the 10gl of fuel I was carrying, maybe not a bright move filling up at the station on the way into Stratford on the Friday night, and still managed to have enough fuel to get home with 1 full tank after 10 runs.

as i am at it i will tell you how i hope to get it in to the 14 teens next year. I need to lighten the car as much as i can but still drive it to the shops when i like. I have started working on this subfame and all the holes are done now and its gone to get all tig welded up . I have got it down to 14.30 kg which is not bad. you should see whats going in the back i am not telling at the mo but.

Well its been a long time so this is a big update, i have got a turbo eng and some box's of bits.

and i have taped the block and head for dry decking with grub screws.

also this my new rad in mock up, i had to cut the car a bit but you can not see it when the grill is on.

Ok then, as i had a weekend off so have been working on the car. I spent yesterday working on the rad and the end tanks are almost done.
Today I stripped the whole engine bay apart from the engine and then I had to modify the starter motor and my new spal fan, along with the front panel, a lot, but luckily it doesn't look as bad as I thought it would as the grill still sits reasonably well ) Now I can get the rad finished with the inlet / outlet and then start on the intercooler.

I have 3 piles starting in the shed now
1.stuff I need
2.stuff I don't need any more
3.stuff in CAD I need to make or get made.

What a mess!!

The block and head all MOTed and a sexy paint job

3rd all sorted and it all washed out.

a box of bits from the vat free deal.

Thanks simon

Well then not much of an up date that you can see;-) ;-). I have sold the N/A 1380 last week and the weber, cooling kit. So its full steam ahead on the turbo 1380.

I am loving being off work at the min. I have had 3 full days working on bits for the car.
The manifold i had to do some work on it and the block to fit my turbo nice and tight to the block.
