Got a lot more done on the Mk1, and I am happy with the results so far. I will let the pics do the chatting
I got up early and called up with my good mate to use his rollers and made the new turrets for when my wheel arches turn up.
Then set about sorting my Gob Stopper of a Roof.
I had to employ the wife to fit in the boot
I am happy with the todays work!
Feeling a bit high from all the Pant stripper, Thinners, Etch Primer,
Thanks for looking.
We had a good day on the Mk1 today, and the light is really at the end of the tunnel now.
I think the last bloke to do body work on the car was more of a plaster as I have found so much filler its on real! even inside in the oddest places.
This is the rear 1/4 both of them are the same, its as thick as a one pound coin.
Just got the engine bay left todo now and and the the real fun starts.
Thanks for looking simon.

as you can see the shocks go in at the bottom.
the spring / alloy flange was rubbing in two places.
This dont look good,
the arm looks like it has came in to contact with the subby
so this is the plan that i have came up with to get around this...
looks like a better angle
Last night I had a full on night in London on the piss so what better way to sweat the beer out? get busy on the car!! By the time i got the train home it was lunch time, it was a little bit latter then I had planned but I had some extra hands to help on the MK1 which was a big help (Thanks Ben) as of tonight I am happy to say that 99.99% of the paint has been stripped off that needs to come off also its got 2 coats of primer to keep the rust down.
I hope to get a full day done tomorrow also.
Thanks for looking

So I sent the mk1 off to get worked on, after the body work was started the bloke that was doing it went off long term sick, so I was left with 1/2 a shell, on wards and up wards I have someone who is going to do the work on the mk1 and I am very excited to see how it is going to turn out!
This year has been a very busy one! Work wise as my wife reminded me last week that I have been away 213 days this year, Falklands, Brunei, Malaysia, Kenya 2 times, New Zealand....
This was my last work trip more play than work 14 days of fun in the sun!
So anyway I got in the man cave and got sorting the pile of car bits and so I can get the mk1 back in one piece as soon as I can get the shell back ASAP!
I had these on my todo list for some time but I am super happy with them!
I got all this cleaned up and made sure it's all good to back on.
Some mig shafts that I have had hanging about
Some more cake to fit this time around.
A box of bits that's been sat all over the place
New rebuilt turbo good to go,
Some more to come tomorrow

I left all the bolts and nuts from the car -the engine in thinners over night so I could give them a good clean. And see what's what.
They all came out ok and after a little over most will go back on the car.
Then I got working on something that's been in my mind for a wile now. So what better way to get something out of our mind then to give it a go.
So this is where I want the denso to sit, I had it almost there with my last one, when I remade the blanking plate. But I made the last one on the fly.
So then I sat with some brain food (which helped with the cad)
Next it was over to the alloy for fine tunning before I go to Ti for the Finnished job.
To I did nothing as I was soooooooo hung over so I sorted out the last of the bits I will be getting remade in Ti at the end of this month.
Next on the list was to sit and look at steering wheels, and removed bosses it's a mine filed :-/ from what I have seen.....

A bit surprised you haven't changed to a bike engine or other for more weight saving!
