Ive been looking into getting one of these so I can get on the internet at my boyfriends work (he doesnt have a landline there) and have been looking at these: Linky.. Id probably get the 3gb one rather than the 1gb one (not that this means much to me! )

Was just wondering if anyone had one? And are they any good?

They're fine, but there is a data receiving limit, so if you spend lots of time on youtube it'll soon start being very expensive!

You can probably get one for free off the 3G service provider, I think Vodafone are one of the best at the moment. You can check online maps to see if the coverage is any good where you want to use it. Uses the same signal as mobile phones so if they claim you're in a 3G area and your phone gets a good signal you'd probably be ok. As fast as wired broadband but they do have a monthly limit that you could go over if you watch a fair few online videos, as Pete says.

I've got 15 gigabytes per month, and only on one month i got close - but it sends you warnings to make sure you dont overspend - I like 3 as a network, theyre the only one to do this as i am aware of.

average on my 3 network is a 3.2, not quite as fast as home or at work but still way better than what I had previously.

I had more of a look into it, theyve got a 3GB for 12 months for £15 and a 5GB for 18 months, also for £15. Decided id go for the 5GB, went to order it and it wont let me use my Solo card for the direct debit, havent got another :) Theyve got online customer support which I thought was really kool and they've told me to go to a 3 shop as I might be able to set up a direct debit there..

Looking through it all though, they do seem really good!

Possibly, he's not got a 3G signal. I'd check the coverage with various providers before you choose one.

just like on your mobile phone, when the software is running it shows you just how good you're signal is, and if you move around sometimes it can improve.
might just be me, but when you're nearer to a window when indoors it works better.

used mine whilst sat in field in Holland at IMM and it worked great.
