the front of the door seems to go into the car, the door flows with the A panel until the top as you can see. i've tried to adjust the bolts with unsucessful results

do i need shims on the inside post aswell as the outside? or do i need to bend the door out?

by the way these are the same doors that came with the car when i bought it (don't know if they have been changed by previous owners....)

please please help

Dave

Hi

I have recently been doing door pillar repairs and found that the holes for the door bolts didnt line up with the existing one`s, in the end I opened up the holes which allowed the door to move a bit more and I was able to line it up all the way around with a screw driver pulling out here and there.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but have you got the rubber seal on? The door may well sit further into the car as in your pics without it.

The door alignment as standard is terrible. Either the bottom sits too far out, or the top sits anywhere it likes!

yer i thought i'd see what the seal against the door would be like and but the door seal back on. it's perfect! pushes the door out and make's it alot better however it's just the area around the door handle that's being a :P now! ah well that mini's for ya!

and i've found out out you adj the doors!! :dontgetit:

SHIMS!

just been spend the last hour and half taking the door off and putting the shims in and putting the door back on see if it fit's (wondered why them metal strips were there >_< )

cheers guys i think i've found the right set up just going to re check the fitment again and then note it down

Doors are always a problem, just a case of enlarging the holes in the hinge panel, playing with various shims and even blocks of wood wedged between the door and doorframe to twist the door into shape.

Also what I usually find you have to do is physicaly bend the door into shape, on my drivers door the bottom left corner was sticking out a bit, gave the corner a bit of a push and pull and now its perfect.
