To be completely honest...
It's a present to myself. The Van itself (Body and Spray) is largely thanks to an insurance payout from last year, when someone wrote my Mini off. The parts that I've sourced so far are all second hand, but in great condition. The rest of the parts are from Kris's collection... for which I am eternally grateful!
There's still lots to buy though... and I'm putting every penny I have into it! It's for my business - So I want it to be spot on.
Chris - That's my main aim! I'm so glad you've picked up on it!
Basically - the van needs to be an iconic and retro van (if it's to stand out and show my company)... but it also needs to be modern and comfortable. In essence, this van needs to reflect who I am, what I do and what my business is about.
My photography tends to put a modern twist on things, but still with a retro, stylistic edge! And that's what I want the van to be about.
Plus I want to be able to take the van on long trips and not have a numb bum

I've got a second one here, complete with airbag if you want one?
Engine wise - Can't say at the moment... that's still a little iffy.
I am tempted by injection and think if I did, I'd go Spi ... Then I can use the subframe that I've got (Seeing as it's a twin bolt one, too). But I think that might be something for the future, once insurance premiums settle down a bit!
At the moment, we're trying to work out how we're going to do the van. What we might do, is to collect all the parts and start putting small things in. Then, when Kris is off work (When his work closes for Christmas), put it all together and have it done in 2-3 weeks, or so.

You can use that subframe Bean, im using a standard carb one on my spi so i cant see any difference between using that and a twin bolt one.

I'm not sure if there's any reason why you couldn't fit SPI or even MPI engine management to any A series. The bits that make them different aren't critical to the injection system, you'd just need to sort out a few engine sensors.
Spi will fit to all 1275's fine. Possibly the MPI 1275 too.
The MPI requires the MPI block due to the crank sensor and the oil filter position with the front mounted rad... there is a few differences too... this includes the Mpi alternator mount being on the head rather than the block.
Its just as easy to fit a complete MPI in but you can convert a 1275 to run spi with the addition of sensors and a trigger wheel.
