They're not bad - They could be better, but I'm happy with them for a first attempt, really! Maybe one day I'll go back and sort them out! ;)

As for an update? ... :genius:

I don't want to jynx anything, but engine in tomorrow? :P

It's had a new clutch, shells, gaskets all 'round, crank, nuts and bolts. The engine now just needs putting back on the gearbox and dropping in to the subframe!! ;)

Oh, and the radius arms, rear brakes etc are all built up, too! :)

Can't wait to see Frankie with subframes!! :)

Just want to say a massive Thank You to 'England_Expects' .... true legend!

Nope! :(

The engine's all back together though, but we've decided to hold back for a bit and change the diff! The engine's all built and sitting in the shed - Shouldn't be too much to get it into the subby and on the car now?

We went to put the rear subframe on instead. On cleaning out the threads on the mounting holes, we found that someone's sheered a bolt inside and the remainder of the thread is stuck! :w00t:

So we've got to try to get that out before the subby goes on :)

The steering rack's on now though, so should be able to start working on the positioning of the column/interior etc.

Don't think so - Think it's a case of breaking out a drill and carefully taking the remains out?

Somthing like this

They will do the job, however if its rusted in i dont want you to break the nut on the inside as that will be bad news. Could try keep drilling it. Dont know what to suggest as touch wood ive never had that problem.

We reckon that the bolt's sheered because it's rusted solid into the threads?

(Linky no worky?)

Link works for me :w00t:

Google "bolt remover" second link down.

Edit.

If its rusted you will need alot of penatrating oil and alot of force to free it, can also use heat but id be worried as its already painted :( Plus if the nut comes loose on the inside you need to cut some of the sill out to get at the nut.

Dont have to get them from there but its the type of tool you need. Most prob be somewhere local that does them.
