My garage chap had a Mini in. A guy wanted him to put a fibreglass front end on it for him! When they started cutting the wings off, the whole thing just crumbled! The bulkhead was disintegrating and on further investigation, the floors were completely shot. So the owner of the Mini just sold it to my garage chap! So he was going to turn it into a piece of art on his wall. (He's made telly-housings and juke boxes out of broken Minis before!) ... But the back end just sat there for ages! Then it got moved out of his unit and sat outside!

So we decided that we'd take it and at least try and save what was left of it! So it's there for a future project ...

Wheels should be back in about 2 weeks or so, I think. They're being blasted and then polished and tidied up. I'm going to be painting the inside black, but that really shouldn't be a problem!

The petrol tank is being dipped, to make sure there's no rust in the tank itself. It's then being sprayed black! Should be back in about 2 weeks, too!

I've got some heavy-duty tie rods in for powder coating and some more suspension parts, so that we can start building up the front subframe!!

Got an order to make today with MiniSpares. Also, Simon reckons that they've got a new 7.5" brake setup available, so I might get 'round to placing my order, finally!

I've just rung Minisport and they said they've been on back-order since before Christmas! (I knew Minisport don't tend to update their website with things that are out of stock, so I checked before ordering!)


Without them, I can't get the windows in the van! Or the Pickup!


Does anyone have any idea where I might find them? I need 4!!

OK ...

Somerford: Window channels ordered (It adds up when you have 3 Minis that need them!) - Total of £70 delivered!

Minispares: Lots of bits and bobs that add up to far too much money. Things like bushes, brackets, trim, seals, gaskets and lots of clips that hold the rear door seals on!

Oh ... And some 7.5 brakes!

I spoke to Simon and he said that the kit that they've got is a repro kit - Same as the other but not with AP calipers. So I decided against it. The AP ones are only £30 more, so thought I would play it safe and pay the extra

Total of: £ a stupid amount of money.



Though ... I was in the middle of the order and had to go to a lecture. Came back and the Minispares site logged me out and wiped my basket! So I'm just about to start again on ordering all the little bits and bobs ...

yep it keeps doing that to me aswell. It didnt use to clear your basket though.

It's just done it AGAIN! I had the window open with my basket, just looking around for alternatives/pricing etc. It's logged me out and deleted my basket! It says 'Log In to Save Basket' so I log in and it doesn't save it!

I've got to start this for the fourth time!
