Iv got a bit more done now. The weather much better than the last time I was down to work on the car making it much easier to get stuck in. At last iv got the welder going so this weekend is a chance to get soem welding done on the car. To do this thought I really wanted the car stripped down to the shell, so here goes....

Then off came the subframe

Axel stands then held the car up

but I wanted something I could move around... so

We then proceded to stip the rest of the shell down with pics coming later.

Sadly I didn't get time to put any more pics up at the weekend as I had to rush back to Sheffield (sorry Marc I haven’t been in touch)

The car is now even more stripped, with the pedal box out. The most trouble we had was getting the little B-stard pin out of the pedal arms to take the box out, I ended up having to get the grinder in there, and there was only a very very small amount of space.

The petrol tank is now off, as well as the ultimate engine steady bracket and the standard engine steady.

I managed to get a little bit of welding down, but not alot as rather than patching over Iv decided to just change a few of the panels.

Soon I will have up for sale the ultimate engine steady, some 1.5/1 ratio rockers, standard top steady, gearbox mounted engine steady, front subframe and radiator if anyone’s interested?

Now that I have it stripped down as soon as the parts above sell I shall be ordering my allspeed frame and really start to get the ball rolling.

As of last night I now have the bottom end to a C16XE, the 16valve version of the C16SE. I managed to pick this up for free luckily so may now turn this project into a valver with ITB's

I have got my eye on the SBD tappered kit, its expensive but comes with ECU and everything required. The inled on the XE is very restrictive and so the engine only produces 110bhp as std. With just inlet mods (these ITB's) it will take it to 159-164bhp which was proved by Rob Hall from Allspeed on his.

Not just yet matt, I shall wait untill I have all of the other compnents first before I make anything final. Next thing to do is go down to Allspeed and order my frame and a few other little bits. im going to make the lower blukhead box and gear shifter support myself if I can get the dimesntions off Tom as we have CNC cutting and bending machines at work that will get it *male chicken* on.

Heres a few pictures of my new bottom end. Managed to pick it up from Macclesfield which was a fantastic drive. Stopped off at the Cat and fiddle with Ruth for a nice drink too.

Another update, I recently got a bit of a bargain. An Mpi tank with pump (3 bar suitable for the vaux engine) for just £20

The vauxhall engine is also picking up some more miles... in the back of my Seicento though, can't wait to get it dropped off!
