Heres the pics of my work today. Both floor pans are now in and the sills are on. Iv done a couple of patches, but im still unsure of what to do with my pepper pot rear whele arches.








Only 2 days left to work on it until I go back to uni

Going back to uni, so yet again it will eb tiem to collect more parts for the build. I have been thinking about the interior, and while I aldeardy have a dash, the guages in it wont work too well with the Vauxhall engine, so instead I think I shall be using one of ETB's digi dash's



I shall probably go for just the lite one, but still this provides you with shift lights, digital speed output, gear selection and clutch engaged,voltage, odometer, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, low pressure warnings, fuel in %, as well as recording max rpm and max speed, which will be great while the car is being used on track.





I would then need a dash board to put it in, possbily one of smudgers.

It was second hand for THE STIG, its a grp race dash, I think it may be one of smudgers, but can't be certain.

I've not been up to much over the past few months the final year at uni has been pretty much been taking over all of my time. I have been looking a lot into the subframe design though, and currently have the gearbox mounted in it. I shall though next weekend be picking my engine up and bringing it to sheffield as I shall be making a CAD model of it and the gearbox to fit to the frame I've been CADing up.

Looks like a nice design. That tab on the rear crossmember, is that for a rear engine mount or something? It looks like it might need some triangulation if it is?

Yeah this is the Allspeed frame. Hopfully today I shall be running it through Finite Element Analysis to see where it's weak spots are.

Come on Tim give us an update. This was one of the projects which has inspired me to start my own x16 conversion so dont let me down!

Anything happened on this Tim? Been slowly plodding on with mine. Credit crunch has bit me on the arse a touch tho!

Same here really. And the lack of a garage in Sheffield doesnt help mulling over the options really. It may be going into another shell and run as a rally car. We shall see
