Bargin! Its going to look extreamly nice with the throttle bodies mated to the head.

I do like these small block vauxhalls, ive got a 1.4 16v in my cosa auto, goes really nicely. (Although it would be much better in my mini!)

Tim, do you know what the combined weight of the vaux engine and box is compared to the a series lump? I was just wondering what difference it would make to handling.

Good luck

Tim, well done for getting that. i want the inlet etc!! Pm on its way.

The weight of the vauxhall engine and box isnt far off what an 'a' series would be. The vauxhall box's weigh nothing, i've lifted both a vauxhall and 'a' series and there wont be much between them at all.

That sounds good to me. You wouldnt loose any of the minis handling traits.
I really fancy doing a 1.4 xe conversion in a standard looking mini designer. A real sleeper, even down to standard wheels and trims!

Thanks Ad

Yeah mass is about the same, which is why I went for the small block over the C20XE! Plus the 1.6 will have more power than the standard C20XE :w00t:

I have finally got pics of my new engine. no more work has taken place on it yet, the next thing to happen will be picking up the subframe and trial fitting the engine :-

It looks fiarly new.
Posted Image

It had to be lifted into the Leon boot with a fork lift.

Posted Image

I then started stipping it all down so that I could get it in the back of the Seicento to take from my firends house to mine. All the wires hd to come off.

So did the manfolds leaving a much lighter engine.

The clutch almost looks brand new.

The inlet manifold is now off and for sale if you still want it Marc?

Got a quick mock up of the ITB's on the engine today and they are looking quite nice. Only a mock up though as I still need to take the head off to replace a couple of bits aswell as cam belt.
