Well I've mostly finished sorting my room at home out so I now have the space to rebuild my upper arms, hubs and drive shafts in a clean environment.

Posted Image
All tidy (sort of).

I'll head to the garage later today and get some snaps of the dried paint, see how it's come out. I'll also bring home all the stuff I need to rebuild the parts I need to do at home. Regular progress should resume tomorrow.

Thanks for looking :).

Decided it was time I got on with rebuilding these parts for the front end so that I can get Elliot on her wheels again. I decided to start with the upper arms. I also had to pop out to buy some stuff, hence why there isn't a massive amount done.

Posted Image
Inside of upper arms cleaned out and a smear of grease applied.

Posted Image
Rebuild kit from Mini Spares, it comes with the plate for the front of the pin too.

Posted Image
I set the pin up like this which allowed me to pull the bearings in most of the way.

Posted Image
Tightening the bolts, sliding the bearings in to place.

Posted Image
Used that method up to about this point.

Posted Image
Then I finished them off with a hammer and drift.

Posted Image
Whacked the seals on the ends and reinstalled the grease nipples after I'd cleaned them out with fresh grease and there we are.

I've squirted a little grease in to them both to keep them happy for now. I'll grease them properly when they're back on the car.

I'm poping round a friends tonight but if it's not too late when I get back, I might make a start on doing the ball joints.

Thanks for looking .

Yeah it works alright! Haynes says to use a vice but my vice has been snapped and welded back together so I'm not sure the jaws are perfectly parallel.

I don't mean to scare anyone but...

...I've done some work!

Posted Image
Started sorting these bottom arm pins out.

Posted Image
While I was waiting for some etch primer to dry.

Posted Image
Then I applied some red oxide to these parts.

Posted Image
Finished removing the old bushes from the bottom arm pins.

Posted Image
Lip was clamped in place and then held in place with screws.

Posted Image
Bonnet popped on.

Posted Image
And trim screwed in place.

It doesn't sit quite right just yet but I'll sort that tomorrow when I finish it off!

Waiting on a few bits from Mini Spares before I can get on with my hubs.

Thanks for looking .

Got the bonnet lip repair finished off today.

Posted Image
Put the bonnet back on its hinges (what a faff).

Posted Image
Trim piece sits nice.

Posted Image
Cleaned down the welds.

Posted Image
Also cleaned these up ready for primer and paint.

Thanks for looking :).

Thanks for the comments guys!

Not been any progress of late, having some problems with doing the ball joints and the last few days I've been sorting the TMF upgrade.

I'm sure MITP will be the enthusiasm kick up the bottom I really need ;).

I'm glad you've enjoyed reading it! I've enjoyed writing it, even if it's taken way longer than I originally intended it to haha. You shouldn't have to wait too long to see that now hopefully :).

As I said earlier, bits and bobs have been going on in the background but they didn't really warrent a big update. Here's some progress on what I've been doing:

Posted Image
Batch of parts I've painted.

Posted Image
A close up.

Posted Image
And another.

Posted Image
Last one.

I've done more than that but I don't have any imagery for it. I'll take some more pictures as I progress today and keep you all in the loop.

Thanks for looking :).
