It's Volkswagen Brilliant Orange.

I don't know what the code is off hand though.

Almost Ed, I'll allow the excitement to kick in when I'm putting her back together :D.

Not sure how MITP is looking at this point in time but I'm still working towards it.

I didn't get a massive amount done today yet I still seem to have loads of pictures haha:

Posted Image
Steering rack dry.

Posted Image
And unmasked.

Posted Image
Close up.

Posted Image
Regreased and new gaitors installed.

Posted Image
And packed up until I'm ready to put it back on the car for good.

Posted Image
None of the other subframe mounts are standard so I bought these to replace the standard front tear drops.

Posted Image
I also bought these. Should be ample to cover the underbelly of Elliot.

Posted Image
Todays job was to get on with cleaning the interior for paint.

Posted Image
Including the rear bench.

Posted Image
And then the boot.

Posted Image
I got tired of scrubbing after a bit so I removed the headlining, should have done this years ago (literally).

I didn't get my cleaning jobs finished so I'll carry on with them tomorrow and then post after pictures :D.

Thanks for looking :D.

Cheers Hugh :D.

Carried on scrubbing today and here we are:

Posted Image
Main floors.

Posted Image
Rear bench.

Everything needs a wipe down with white spirit but I've still some areas that need rubbing down which aren't part of the floor. I'll carry on when I'm at the garage again on Thursday.

Thanks for looking :-.

Did you use a wire wool brush on the drill for that? I need to do the same job >_<

It was too harsh Luke, it was taking the paint too which I didn't want. I only used the wire wheel in the areas that needed bare metaling anyway.

In the end I used a paint scraper to remove the big bits and then rubbed like mad with a metal scourer, like you would use to do the dishes. Worked a treat but it's hard work and you'll have sore fingers! I really didn't want to lose the paint though.

Working on moving back home today! Makes working on Elliot look like light work!

Mark ;D

Glad you're enjoying it :teehee:.

Here's a bit of progress:

Posted Image
Good coating of red oxide on the floors.

Posted Image
Light coating on the rear bench.

Posted Image
Same light coat in the boot.

I only gave them light coats because the original paint was fine and the boot was already primed in most places.

I'll rub down a few areas tomorrow to smooth them out and then spray some nice black paint!

Thanks for looking .

Thanks for the comments guys :teehee:.

It'll look better when it's black ;D. It still won't be perfect but 90% of that will be under carpet anyway, I just want it to be protected.
