Steering rack dry.
And unmasked.
Close up.
Regreased and new gaitors installed.
And packed up until I'm ready to put it back on the car for good.
None of the other subframe mounts are standard so I bought these to replace the standard front tear drops.
I also bought these. Should be ample to cover the underbelly of Elliot.
Todays job was to get on with cleaning the interior for paint.
Including the rear bench.
And then the boot.
I got tired of scrubbing after a bit so I removed the headlining, should have done this years ago (literally).
I didn't get my cleaning jobs finished so I'll carry on with them tomorrow and then post after pictures .
Thanks for looking .

Carried on scrubbing today and here we are:
Main floors.
Rear bench.
Everything needs a wipe down with white spirit but I've still some areas that need rubbing down which aren't part of the floor. I'll carry on when I'm at the garage again on Thursday.
Thanks for looking .

In the end I used a paint scraper to remove the big bits and then rubbed like mad with a metal scourer, like you would use to do the dishes. Worked a treat but it's hard work and you'll have sore fingers! I really didn't want to lose the paint though.
Working on moving back home today! Makes working on Elliot look like light work!

Glad you're enjoying it .Love reading your project Deathrow, the work you have done and your detailed write up's are a big help to us all. Looking forward to seeing more ......Good luck with your move
Mark
Here's a bit of progress:
Good coating of red oxide on the floors.
Light coating on the rear bench.
Same light coat in the boot.
I only gave them light coats because the original paint was fine and the boot was already primed in most places.
I'll rub down a few areas tomorrow to smooth them out and then spray some nice black paint!
Thanks for looking .

It'll look better when it's black . It still won't be perfect but 90% of that will be under carpet anyway, I just want it to be protected.

Have you kept all the metal bungs from the holes in the floor?
