Face your fears Ed .nice one! could do with measuring the minus out... i dont think i dare though!!
Should be alright though, no rot to deal with so it should have remained straight.

First task of the day was to take this...
...and these...
...and make this.
Drilled and primed.
Held in place.
View from outside.
Welded up, not quite finished but not much left to do before I can grind the welds back neat.
I'm moving back to my Uni house tomorrow, so I won't be working on the car. Should have an update on Saturday though so check back .
Thanks for looking .

Anyway, managed to get to the garage for a few hours yesterday so here are the pictures:
Updated to do list.
Since no alignment changes could be made any more, I decided to take the front off its stands and support the rear properly.
Done.
Finished up the welding on the closing panel.
From the side.
Checked the arch still fits properly.
Welds dressed and a quick dusting of zinc rich primer applied to protect it.
There is still some weld dressing to be done inside the car before I can call it done, but the welding is finished in this area.
I've fallen back upon the old cellulose vs rustoleum debate again, primarily because money is a bit tighter than I would have liked due to some people pulling out on some jobs I was supposed to be doing. I better decide quick!
Thanks for looking .

I've followed your thread recently, being amazingly impressed at the work that you're putting in to the car. Yours is one of the project threads on here that have really inspired me to learn to weld and fix my mini for myself.
However, I've not been well these last 2 days and this afternoon I decided to read your thread through from the start and I admire every inch of work you've done to Elliot - I really am impressed and just hope that I can show the same dedication to Reggie that you have shown here.
Keep up the amazing work - You're a true inspiration - Thanks

There are some bits here and there that if I were to do them again, I'd do them differently, but that's how you learn isn't it. At the end of the day, there are so many panels available for the Mini, if the worst happens and it goes a bit wrong, you can replace the whole panel.
I'm quite excited for her to be finished, just need to get over the final little bits of welding/grinding and get her in paint. Then winter can be used to piece all the mechanicals back together .
Hope you're feeling better as well Bean, I've got a cold at the moment, it was going away until I went and worked on Elliot on Thursday, then it got worse again .

Yeah, I'm fine now, thank you - Think I've been over-doing it lately! Either that, or I had a massive allergic reaction to the old paint that I've stripped off our new front door, lol.

I totally agree! What amazes me in your project is that you're not afraid of having a go at it - Which I totally admire! And through it, you've managed to learn a huge amount and develop some amazing skills - I don't know about you, but I would have a read back through your own thread from time to time - Just so you can see how far the car's come and what a brilliant job you've done. I don't know - It sometimes makes me feel a bit better about Reggie!
Keep it up, Mr!

I shall have to have a read back through sometime soon, I've been feeling a bit down about the project (think its fear that the alignment of the rear subframe won't be right) even though it's so close to being finished.
Plan is to go and carry on with her today once I've done my lectures and played squash, the weather is looking grim though so I'll have to wrap up.
Maybe some progress later.
