Bit more work done this evening:

Posted Image
Dirty second hand superfin I sourced a while back.

Posted Image
Cleaned up a bit, they'll be painted eventually anyway.

Posted Image
Radius arm now clean and etched.

Posted Image
Painted up with rustoleoum.

Then guess what I did, yeah, I spilt rustoleoum on the cream carpet in my Uni bedroom, seeing my £250 deposit evaporate in front of me, I grabbed a can of choke and carb cleaner and fired away, oddly enough, you can't even tell I ever spilt anything there now! Go me!

Cracking work mate, all progress. Good save on the carpet also, £250 is 2 minispares orders!

I reckon you should leave the superfins though and not paint them, look perfect just as they are :shy:

Hehe, or one moderate order!

We'll see, they're not getting painted yet anyway as it's something that isn't hard to take off and do later.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to getting behind the wheel of her again :). Lets hope I do everything right and nothing drops off! :withstupid:

Well here is a small update. I got up too late in the day to be going to the garage but I decided I wanted to make some head way on the Mini anyway so I set about starting on some bits I can do at home.

Posted Image
Driver side radius arm outside all dirty.

Posted Image
Back inside after having a quick scrub and a going over with the pressure washer.

Posted Image
One to start and one part way through.

Posted Image
Gear selector will be getting similar treatment to the radius arms, stripped to component parts, cleaned, painted, greased and reassembled. Maybe even polish it a little hehe.

I'll probably update again later this evening if I start to strip that arm down, which I believe I probably will, although I already know that the screw holding the drum on is seized, grrr.

Thanks for looking :tumble:.
