It was on the previous page Luke, if you're referring to my reply to Parklane about writing up an update :teehee:.

Copper grease is goooood. It smells so nice though, honestly, if it looked any more appealing, I'd eat it :dontgetit:.

Nothing really today, I've been working on something else :D.

I did however nip to B&Q and get 2 sheets of 3mm hardboard to make some new door cards out of and I went to halfords and got a valve grinding stick and some grinding paste so I can lap the valves back in once the head is ready for that.

Cheers, I'm glad people enjoy it, makes me feel good about writing them .

Oh I wouldn't, you don't want metal in your eye!

I'd race but I wouldn't want you ro rush your nice cooper! To be honest, I don't want to rush Elliot either .

I've just spent £280 (plus PnP) on Mini Spares, I shall document that lot when it comes in, although it's mostly boring seals and stuff but there are a few goodies you guys might like .

Are you going to MITP Adam?

I doubt it, I'm way up North. I'd love to come but it's just cost and stuff. Isn't it quite expensive admission this year too?

Where is it? I'll see how much it's going to cost me in juice.

I'll be there next year with Elliot, regardless .

Just looked, it's 200 miles (3 hours 30), each way . That's going to be about £50 in petrol alone.

Hello guys and girls, not a big update.

Posted Image
Cylinder head after I'd decoked the combustion chambers, pressure washed it and dried it.

Posted Image
After a coat of black. The picture shows some yellow showing through but you can't see it in normal lighting :/.

Now, I've just noticed my computer is leaking water, so I'll be off to sort that, enjoy the pictures .

Here's another update. I'm beginning to think I update too often! I don't like their being no comments between my posts! *Ahem* :X.

Apologies for the pictures, I've not idea why my camera is acting like it's been on the whiskey. Could be something to do with the amount of times it's been dropped. Oh well.

Got to the garage later than normal today just because I didn't have my head screwed on properly but I managed to get a little bit done before the weather called halt to everything.

Posted Image
Driver seat frame right hand bracket cleaned up, I think it looks pretty good and it's strong!

Posted Image
Same goes for the left hand bracket.

I did some work on the rear of the frame too but I've no pictures of that. It just need a flat welding in to the bottom of each leg now so that it can be easily bolted to the floor then I'll mirror the frame for the passenger seat and do the finishing touches.

Posted Image
I got home and started work on the cylinder head.

Posted Image
Cleaned.

Posted Image
Looks a little vacant.

Posted Image
All lapped in and valve springs re-installed.

Posted Image
Seems to look the part too.

I've a few more jobs I need to do on the engine before the cylinder head can be installed but we're well on our way. Has anyone ever had one of MiniSpares' cylinder head kits that came with a loose headgasket? There seems to be plastic around it but I'm not sure if it's meant to be removed or not.

Thanks for looking guys and please comment, even if it's just to say I should have got more done >_<.

It's weird, you can't see any in real life. The paint seems to go transparant when you let the flash get at it.

I'll touch up any bits that need it when the engine is all together and out in the sun, poking out of Elliots front subby :X.

Im not going to comment on your work, because there's no need really. Everyone knows it's top notch.

But I do enjoy how you say "sorry for the bad pictures" then post some pictures that are absolutely fine! aha.

Keep up the good pictures. :D

John.
